What's the deal with Dog Handlers?

I always assumed they were trying to make the dog look better by dressing badly

    Yeah! Like bridesmaid dresses!!!

I've thought the same thing, about some handlers.  But recently I've seen some I thought  "Well they look nice!"  But more often then not, those flowery dresses, aren't my style Smile

Whoa, that lady in the back of the first pic looks mad at you!

I also like the scrunchie instead of a rubber band for her number.  Smile

GOOD EYE, I scrolled back up and LMBO! That was hilarious, she truly does look rather peeved!

A friend has just informed me that Land's End makes washable suit jackets with pockets.

Limited colors, but here ya go Pocket jacket

I wish I had an extra $150 to spend on 1/4 of an outfit to show in!  I'd still need a shirt, pants/skirt, and shoes!  For me, I try to find stuff on clearance a lot.  I don't mind wearing black pants or skirts because my dogs are white and typically don't shed much once they've been stripped down.  I have a gray suit type skirt that I really like that I usually just wear a comfortable shirt with.  Nothing fancy.

Also, many young women discover that some of the older judges will put up a dog when the owner or handler is wearing a short skirt/revealing top. Tyhe sad part is, it often works.  Grrr

Have you ever tried to run in a mini skirt and heels?  It ain't happenin'!  I personally rarely wear dresses in the ring (heck, I rarely wear them PERIOD), but I always wear professional attire.  A dress or a jacket and nice blouse with slacks.  I wear Birkenstocks since my ankles are soooo bad I don't stand a chance of running in anything else!

the big thing i was thinking the other day when i was watching was about the handlers hair. maybe i just notice more being a hair dresser? i understand its probably crazy buzy before a show but you'd think that if your going to be on national tv you could at least try to look like you didnt just roll outta bed lol Angel

I have those Crocs. They're perfect. Absolutely perfect.

I haven't made it into the conformation ring, just yet, buuuut I have shopped. It's a royal pain, I agree. I have a time even dressing for an obedience trial. The weather is fickle, I don't always know the conditions of the show site, I need pockets, comfortable shoes... I try to dress not-super-casual.

I need a dog to show. I'm going to handle one or two, before I get one of my own, to be SURE I want to do conformation. I'm doing some show grooming, now (which is fun, I love grooming). Getting thereSmile

It is REALLY hard to find clothes..like some people mentioned...

And thats why I have someone make all my show suits now. I get to choose the colors and patterns and they all have POCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to start a business, selling nice women's clothing that has pockets would probably be wildly popular. Why on earth don't they put pockets in everything? where do they expect women to carry their keys and dog treats?
