This week: All Time Low and American Diary. Two bands my 18-year-old sister put me on to because they are her friends. LOL. Good stuff, look up all time low on iTunes!

Right now I am really enjoying Anberlin and Emery.  However, my taste change almost daily.  I have diferent things on my mp3 player for my moods.  Paul Wright is my favorite when I am happy, or want to be happy, and Disciple is good when I want to get my adriniline flowing.

    DECEMEBERISTS!

I am in love with Colin Meloy. I admit it.

"you were that kid in high school with long hair and those black rock t-shirts weren't u

Heh heh..that was me too....Still is actually. Favorite artist is still Trent Reznor, by far. Also Refused, Queens of the Stone Age, Motorhead, Sons and Daughters, Social Distortion, Against Me!.....My hair still changes color on a semi-monthy basis...it's dark brown with pink now...most of my clothing is either black or band-related...I have multiple piercings, a tattoo, and do have a penchant for dark eyeliner....but y'know, underneath it all I'm a complete and utter nerd.

On the complete other side of the spectrum...I adore Elliott Smith and Nick Drake. Both so brillant and came to such sad ends :(

We, too, Like Queens of the Stone Age.

But I have favorite bands that most of these bands used as role models. The Who, for nearly forever. There's only two of the original left. Moon passed away decades ago. John Entwistle passed away a year or so ago. That leaves Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend.

Uriah Heep, who still play. David Byron has had the same stellar voice for 4 decades, professionally.

Kansas, who went through so many changes. But at least they have the original singer, Steve Walsh back. In fact, the only person not in it is the founder, Kerry Livgren.

Steppenwolf. The only surviving original members include the keyboardist (forgot his name) and the singer, John Kay.

But the style I most wanted to emulate in singing and playing was the Who. I still do "Baba O'Riley" and "Behind Blue Eyes." There are many amazing singers that I like. But Daltrey is a natural, full-voiced tenor.

So Daughtry is all on his on and stuff? I thought he was talking to Fuel about becoming their lead singer - have they found a new lead singer? I don't really keep up. Most the bands I like put out one or two albums and disbanded. (Chronic, Mill Village Apostles, Ultraviolets - though they put out an album as the Brent Lundy Band... which I cannot find, Caulfields... and on and on.)

As far as just bands go (as opposed to solo artists), I like Evanescence, Maroon 5, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry and Hoobastank. There are a lot of other good ones out there, but those are the ones that I typically end up listing to for weeks at a time when I can't stand to listen to another radio commercial.

I don't generally have favorite bands though I really like John Mayer and Coldplay.  The last three CDs I bought (I'm behind the times, no IPOD) were: Brad Paisley, Justin Timberlake (so not normally my taste!) and the soundtrack to Catch and Release.  I'm a mixed bag.  Must be why I like soundtracks so much - they give you a little bit of everything.

I too like John Mayor and Taylor Swift.

I'm a country girl at heart though and my favorite is Kenny Chesney...I'll be going to see him again this summer (June 14!!!!)
