The moderator of that training egroup deleted my snotty reponse to the person who told me to exercise and train my dogs. I sort of figured my response was a bit edgy for that group but boy did that girl make me angry!

 

I actually laughed out loud when I read your post. There aren't many people I know who exercise and train their dogs as much as you do. Oh well, no sense letting people you don't know or care about upset you, especially when they don't know what they're talking about.

Stopped at PETSMART after picking up Kayla to grab a nice flavor covered bone! The trainer was there with "Kimi" the (miniture?) American Eskimo! Kimi and Kayla are like bff! hehe

Now Kayla is under my desk chewing away at the bone.... *sigh* if she came to work with me everyday I would be the happiest person on earth. I always rush home just to see her! And now with her here I feel like I can do work for hours...

 You're right. I shouldn't let it bother me. Usually I am pretty good about ignoring stupid people on the internet. I think I'm just cranky lately (actually I know that I'm cranky lately!)

on another note: I got a really nice compliment about Neiko at the dog park yesterday. I usually get 2 comments about him: 1) that he plays too rough and people don't want their dogs playing with him or 2) he's very well behaved, listens well, etc. (funny how people are so different in their opinions). Anyway, yesterday a guy was checking Neiko out and asked me if I spend a lot of time brushing him every day. I said "No, I probably brush him out once a week, if that". The guy couldn't believe it and kept going on and on about how great Neiko looks, asked me if he was a show dog, etc. :) I was so proud of my little guy :)

I think I'm just cranky lately (actually I know that I'm cranky lately!)

Me too!! I actually felt angry just thinking about what a idiotic thing it was to say to you. Why don't you give me the link and I'll post a reply -ha-ha!!

It's finally sunny here today - yay!!!! It's cold and windy, but sitting here and having the sun shining thru the window is such a nice change. The Sierras were hammered with snow all weekend. They even had to close both highways Sat night, and that rarely happens.  The rest of the week is supposed to be beautiful, so it's going to be a great time for folks heading up to ski.

We get the next 2 Mondays off for the President's birthdays!  Yay!  Man, I love working for the government!!

Oh I forgot to mention I met someone in my neighborhood who has a female GSD who just had pups (they are 8 weeks now) 11 of them!!!! Anyway we got talking he FOUND her I-375 and Rosa Parks (in Detroit) wandering along the highway heavy with pups. He picked her up and took her home. He said there was no way she could have wandered on to the highway where he found her she had to have been dumped. Apparently she is an AWESOME dog, very well trained and she will not leave this guys side. He is keeping two of the pups and the mom. He is getting her spayed in a week or two. All the puppies survived. What a good story for this dog that could have been so easily the other way.

He tried to locate the owner but we suspect the person who had her didn't want the vet bills incurred from the whelping. The mother did not act at all aggressive when my dog was around her property or pups. We didn't let Belle get too close why ask for trouble.

Aw!!! If he needs help placing them, I'm sure the MIGSD rescue can help!  

I just setup TWO dentist appointments, yuck!  An emergency tomorrow morning (abscess tooth?) and a cleaning next week...

If I see him again I will let him know. I don't know him to walk up to his door if you know what I mean. My gut tells me he won't be asking $$ per say for them. He knows nothing about the breeding (pups I saw were CUTE) and so I would suspect nominal placing which might help them home easier.

Love your coat Liesje!  Coats are one of my weaknesses which is kind of funny considering here in Texas we don't need them that often.  I guess I don't really need a zillion pairs of shoes either but that doesn't stop me.

I must go to the grocery store tonight after work because I put it off all weekend and I'm going to be eating Joey's food otherwise.  I don't feel great and am a little light-headed when I stand up (have been since yesterday a.m.) so I don't want to go to Wally world!  Guess that's what I get for procrastinating!

Is it really only 2:16?  Sheesh, this week is going to be the pits if Monday is already this slow!

I'm one step closer to unloading my 2000 Jetta on some poor, unspecting soul.  Now if I could only get that bumper fixed for less than $400 AND get it traded in before something major malfunctions/breaks, I'd be sitting pretty.  Getting that darn thing was the worst decision of my young life.  I'm hereby boycotting VW.

Edit: I just read in the paper that there will be a solar eclipse on the 7th, but it won't be visible from the northern hemisphere. We will have a full lunar eclipse Feb 20-21.

Did I fail to mention I hate my neighbors?  Yup, my next door and below me apartment dwellers have got to go!  Why do people feel the need to slam their front door?  Why did next door [insert ugly word for female] decide it would be a good idea to get into a fight with her man of the month Friday night from 11:00 to 7ish a.m Saturday?  Why didn't I call the cops at 3 instead of 7?  Why is my lease seven months instead of six?  What did I do to deserve this kind of karma?  Will my sanity survive the next few months?

So. tired. Need sleep. I worked at 6:30 this morning and I have to be there at 6 (!!!) am tomorrow. It's too late to nap now so I might cook some dinner and go to bed early.

The neighbor across the cul-de-sac has a lab. It's brown. Last month or so it was a yellow lab. The month before it was a cocker spaniel. They all have always been out in the yard but this brown one barks. And barks. AND BARKS. AHHHHH. Which makes Pirate antsy. Jeez.

I made my required phone calls for the day, so now I can feel good. Two of them I only left messages, but oh well. I talked to the guy my dad knows about organizing a race for a foundation the parents of one of my students have just started. Now, I have a new mission of calling around to places about whether we could run it.
