PEACHES [Mini Aussie] *UPDATE*

    • Gold Top Dog

Congrats to your family. She is a really pretty pup. Your family has experience with herding breeds, they'll be fine with Peaches and she'll love going to the beach with your brother for sure.

Wow she is just gorgeous! I can see why your family fell in love. Good luck with her! I hope to see many pics of her growing up!

P.S. Otto, I'm usually on your side of things but I have to stick up for her on this thread. Pom did do her best to get information ahead of time to convince her mom not to buy this mini aussie. She even PM'd me privately to get advice. Since this was obviously not her choice, I think that it is out of line to attack her over this regardless of how we feel about the breed. Like it or not, designer dogs, such as the mini aussie, labradoodle, yorkiepoo, etc. are here to stay.  Supplying good training and behavior advice is a whole lot better than driving what could be a good member of our community away.

Thanks again for those who posted nice words & also sent me PMs :o) You are all wonderful people!

Janet808 here is a picture of Meeko & Kayla from Christmas :o) I miss my Sheltie so much... My Mom called me today to tell me they are taking her to the Vet today to check up on her cancer... makes me so sad...

ON A HAPPY NOTE... Kayla is ONE YEARS OLD today!! :o)

    • Gold Top Dog

Here is another one... This is a couple years ago before Meeko was diagnosed with Cancer... now she can barely walk... IN LOVING MEMORY OF HER DAYS RUNNING ON THE BEACH!

That last one is great!  I wish I had pics of my Pint before she was old.  For some reason I don't seem to.  Its so hard to remember how she was before.  She was old for so long.

Thanks hun! :o) Ya I'm going to have to dig through my Mom's old pictures to find more!...

Makes me want to take more pictures of Kayla; because you are right, sometimes it's hard to find pictures of them young and when you see them now its so hard to see all the youth and energy they once had...

I am lucky to have my puppy who resembles Meekos "old personality" so well that it made my Mom CRY when she was holding Kayla... It truly is a blessing...

I hope Meeko will hold on for me longer... maybe Peaches will bring the fountain of youth!

Its suprising what a puppy can do for an old dog.  When Tucker first arrived at my sister's house, it was like Pint turned back into a young dog again.  The difference in her was crazy.  It was short lived, maybe 6 months, but long enough to teach Tucker the ropes.  Geez I miss that dog.

lol I had to post this one for you huskymom... hahahaha even though my family moved to Florida they are still Boston RED SOX fans! :o)

Oh, I do feel for Meeko and you (and family).  It is so hard to watch them knowing they will be leaving soon.  It is so hard to know what to do about a new one.  I have faced that situation about three different times.  Just recently, I considered adopting a 9 mos old Shih Tzu, but the reaction of my 11yr old Tzu was very disturbing.  I opted to find her another home.

About 4 mos ago I took in a 13 + or - Yorkie, Toby.  He is in the final days of his life.  I don't know how long he has, but about three weeks ago he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.  I have been so very very careful not to let anything make him feel he is getting one second less attention than anyone else.  Then along came Pippin.  3 1/2 mos old and full of energy and curiosity.  I was so concerned about my 11 yr old Tzu and my 13 yr old Yorkie.

Yikes!  Why do I do these things to myself.  After about six weeks, I think everyone is ok.  We are all balanced in food and affection.  Trinket, my 6 yr old Yorkie still thinks most attention should be focused on her.  I think it should be too, but I can't tell her that.

As long as I can give reasonable care (food, vet, love, training), I always have room for one more, but boy is it a balancing act in physical and financial responsibilities and affairs of the heart.

Best of luck to you, your family, Peaches and Meeko....... and of course, Kayla

Thank you for being able to sympathize with me Edie... yeah it is really hard... all though Meeko is my "second" dog she was the one i pick out, the dog i asked for, the one i grew up with, the one i played house with, the one that would run around the island with me, my total side kick... growing up and moving away was hard enough but now to see her in this condition is just horrible... I went down there for Christmas break and I threw a tennis ball for her... she ever so slowly waddled over to get it... took her such a long time and I remember watching her bring it back to me i just started BAWLING my eyes out! i miss my sheltie puppy so much and i can't stand watching her in pain... * tear * its even making me tear up now! :o(
