How does your dog ask for attention?

Each of my dogs are a little different in the ways that they ask for attention.

Chyna likes to sit at my feet, facing away from me, then she just sits up on her butt, front legs waving in the air.  She leans back on my legs for added balance.  It's so cute that it usually works.

Bevo stares at me.  I hate to be stared at & he will hold the stare for up to 5 minutes.  If the stare fails then he comes over & lays his head down next to my leg & looks up at me with his big, brown, pleading eyes.  I am usually conned into petting him at that point in time.

Brinxx is my easygoing dog.  She lays under my feet.  If she has my feet touching her, she doesn't need anymoe attention.

Shooter is a whiner.  His whines start out very quietly & the volume increases as time goes by.

Schatzi hops up on the couch with me.  Dogs are not allowed on my furniture, but apparently she failed to get that memo.

To get it he had to jump over a 4 foot barrier to get into the kitchen, pull the knife out of the kitchen sink and jump back over the barrier and then run around with the knife.  Now THAT will grab your attention, won't it?
    In a VERY scary way!

I have a bouncer/leg jumper.  My boy will leap at my legs and bounce straight up.  When walking he will bounce on the back of my legs.   My trainer has offered suggestions for discouraging this - but only succeeded in whacking my leg, hurting my hip then seeking out the chiropractor.  He bounds and leaps off everything!  to go outside he does a run and banks off the door before going out!  If he would mature a bit he would be a great agility star!

April sits in front of me and stares, if no responce, she sneezes,[:D] In the morning in bed, she dances about on the bed or sneezes till I move.  When she wants to play she brings her toy or puts it in her mouth and squeeks it.  We have very good communication.

I forgot about the sneezing thing!![:D]  Baby does that too!

That's funny! Beauty sneezes when she's frustrated, but not when she's trying to get my attention.

OMG knife-wielding pharoh's!  That would most certaintly get my attention.

It happened once...but mein gott it was scary...  usually he steals things like towels, underwear, shoes, you know stuff that is more embarrassing than lethal.

In his mouth is one of my kitchen knives, not a paring knife, not a steak knive, but a 12 inch blade butcher knife.

I suppose the only thing worse would have been if you'd awakened in bed and seen him standing over you with it in his mouth!!! We're going to see you guys on the news someday Ed!

Gracie generally jumps up on the couch and lays her head on your leg, or takes her paw and paws you on the arm or in the head. Tookey sits up on his haunches and begs for attention, or licks. I prefer the begging to the licking, personally.

Naw, at night we're all babygated inside the hallway.  That way the cat can do her moonlit strolls without being chased.  Otherwise I'd be woken up every night at about 1am with the pitter patter of 8 doggie feet and 4 really fast feline feet.

it would seem, ed, that your dogs are crying out to be trained in the "hospitality business"...

rosie will bring the ball and drop it in your lap.  then stare.  then pick it up and drop it again, in case you didn't see it.  and again, and again, and again....................  eventually, it dissolves into something like a howl, but not quite.. "rooOOOooooo"

tek, well, he never wants for anything because he's pretty much my lap dog to begin with, but in case i'm not paying attention, he'll look at me out of the side of his eyes with his ears all flat.  if i don't respond, he gives his best play bark.  and again and again and again.  until i play chase-the-tek....

Willow is very clear.  First, I'll hear a little commotion at the foot of my bed, paws moving, sneezing, some sniffing.  Then I get the nose on the edge of the mattress.  So, I open my eyes and I see a big nose and two ears.  If that doesn't work, I get a big bear face over me sniffing and/or a paw.  If that doesn't get me to acknowledge then she gets down and does a low growl.  THAT usually gets my attention.  But, she usually gets herself banned from the bedroom for being obnoxious.  "Are you talkin' to me?"  And, she knows she went too far.  [:D]
