Kongs

My boys like yogurt and peanut butter, apple, banana, natural balance roll, bread. I freeze them and feed them to them in their crates. It isn't that messy, I take the bedding out and if they make a mess, they clean it up pretty well. :)

OMG!! That's a treat!! Smile I'll not wait anymore to make a kong with all of the things that you have mentioned for Thor... I even not care about the mess (because it'll be the first time) Thanks a lot for the tips!

Some families make their kids lunches the night before, just before bed time.  We make kongs!

Not all our "kongs" are kong brand but most of them are.  We use everything from kibble, carrots, potatos, yogurt, dog gravy, peanut butter to a nasty liver paste that they love.  Sometimes just a fistful of kibble and some yogurt for it to freeze to will do the trick.  They get placed in the door of the freezer to freeze up overnight.

Just before we leave we have "Kong Time" when the boys run to the kitchen to receive their frozen treats.  They don't even notice us leaving!

If you ever came to visit our house, it would be almost as if you never left your own home! Every night before bed Kongs (and Jacks and Busy Buddies, etc...) are made, Kongs are frozen in the door of the freezer (though we do full meals, not just a handful of this and that), and right before we leave, it's Kong time, I grab the Kongs and other toys and the dogs race me to their areas (Marlowe to his room, Conrad to his crate), they get their booty, we leave the house, and by the time the dogs are done working on their goodies, they don't particularly care that we're gone. It's nap time.

Well I got Lillie her kong and stuffed a few dental stix in it for now and she is loving it. Gonna try other stuff and freeze them later.  Gonna have to go out and get Jayde and Kujo one.
