, there should be 32, if your wisdom teeth haven't erupted or have been extracted and you haven't had any others removed, you'd have 28.

I have 32...until the 11th when they will all be yanked and replaced with sugar proof fakes! Kidding....maybe.

LOL!! Yeah, I'm betting you're too vain to like the idea of taking your teeth out and leaving them in a glass on the nightstand at night Big Smile

Yeah... I have 29. One wisdom tooth, and no sign of the other three. Hmm

My Mom, sister and brother-in-law all use the same dentist. Supposedly he's fairly cheap, but they do have to pay when the work is done, no payment plans or anything. And I do have credit cards I can use, it just makes me ill to think about doing that since a couple of them already have a good bit of debt on 'em. Sure, makes sense..use credit cards for stupid crap but not my teeth. I'm just an idiot, that's all...

You're not an idiot Chelsea. It's hard to rationalize going into debt over something like dental work or practical stuff. It just doesn't give us that fun feeling, so who wants to do it if they don't have to, right? I'm not sure if it'd work in your case, but depending on how much you spend on dental/health care and how much you make, you can deduct it on your taxes. That includes everything from ibuprofen to dental work. So, if you start a treatment plan that's going to go thru next year, start keeping receipts for everything you buy. I had a friend who got a very nice refund by doing that.

Chelsea, I avoided going to the denstist for an obscene amount of time, too. I had a terrible dentist in high school who literally scraped the needle back and forth across your jawbone when giving novacaine shots. I could *hear* the needle grinding against the bone. But I finally broke down and went to the dentist when my cousin cracked off a chunk my front tooth on a beer bottle. It looked VERY white trash LOL! I was totally embarassed to come in and have the dentist fix a cosmetic issue, when I knew I had some serious cavities going on, but she was very understanding and the damage wasn't as bad as I feared. I will have to have all my wisdom teeth pullled, but I figure that will be a piece of cake compared to birthing two 9 pound babies LOL!

Go find a dental school or a local dentist who can work with you doing the work as you can afford it. It's worth it in the long run. Dentures and crowns and bridges and root canals cost a lot of money but most  can be avoinded if you catch it early enough!

My co-worker said that her dentist charges $40,000+ for a whole set of implants.

They definitely aren't cheap and take many, many visits to the dentist to complete Tongue Tied
