my suggestion.... get an 8-10" iron skillet. keep it by the bed, and have your husband/boyfriend crack you on the skull with it when you wake up. i can almost guarantee an uninterrupted nights sleep. Devil

But probably my strongest recommendation is Hylands "Calms Forte"

I've never heard of this but it sounds like something good to have on hand.  Where do you find it?  Health food store, drugstore, grocery store?

I got mine at a CVS. They have a store locator on their website: http://www.calmsforte.com/

Thanks for posting that info, Cita.  I just checked the store locator and there are four places right here that sell it - all within walking distance.

I've been there, sometimes I still get that way when I think back to last May when my poor little Emily had her 2 front teeth knocked out (by accident) w/ and aluminum bat.  Now, I probably won't be able to sleep, since I brought it up.  Have a glass of wine, or beer maybe before you go to bed and/or, take some benedryl.  That always worked on the kids! Surprise  Just kidding folks!

Maybe if you don't want alcohol, try warm milk.  I did the benedryl thing and/or nightquil for myself, just to try and make me go out.  Sorry, your stressed, I know the feeling...good luck, and hopefully something here...will work for you.  Not necessarily in my post, but others. Embarrassed

Calms is AWESOME stuff. I work 7pm-7am shifts about twice a week and I'll even take it at work. It doesn't knock me out COLD but relaxes my thoughts enough so I can sleep. It usually takes about an hour or so to kick in for me.

Absolutly true ... I don't wait to take it until I've been sleepless hours.  If I think I'm not tired enough or unwound enough TO sleep I take it before i go to bed.  OR I'll take it mid-evening.

It doesn't give you brain fog -- and if you have to wake up you do with NO sleepy side effects.  It helps with body balance -- you can take it every night with no ill effects because it's a homeopathic.  It's only 'nudging' your body to do a thing -- it won't "put" you to sleep.

This works for me.  I sleep with my head pointing north.  Sounds strange, I know,  Even my dog sleeps with his head pointing north.  Can't hurt to try it.

I checked thw website, i am not very close to any of the store for the Calms stuff, so I will order it online!  Thank you so much!

barely ever have problems sleeping, so when i do i never know what to do about it either. but if nothing else helps, short naps, even 10-15 minutes can be very refreshing, when you are very tired. it's surprising. that's how i would survive the end of semester stress... :)
