April - another emergency.

    April - another emergency.

April is not good, she had another episode of paralysis yesterday, rushed her to our vet and also called emergency in Philly.  They okayed our vet to give her a shot of cortisone and put her back on the prednisone but a much lighter dose.  This morning she is walking again, we take her back on Tuesday and as of right now have no idea what we are going to do.  I'm out of mind over this.

Say a prayer for my pup.

have you guys done acupuncture? sorry if i missed it if you have. but it worked on Kaydee with just one session.. that particular vet said he has seen many cases. some of them are never right again, no matter what. his ex wife's dog for example did surgery, then acupuncture, then therapy and then back to surgery and then referred back to acupuncture. but some of his other clients who were once paralyzed are walking again - and these are the little long bodied dogs where its common.. pekes and doxies.. they come in regularly for acupuncture sessions and have yet to have any more incidents.

I wont say i SWEAR by it..... and i'm not even really sure THAT was what helped Kaydee... i mean she had been paralyzed for three months with no sign of improvement except a twitch every now and then... but improvements sure did speed up a whole lot after that one session... and that was with the vet being limited due to her back being sore.. She's up and running and moving around ALMOST normal again.

Acupuncture would surely help -- it helps not just with pain but with healing.  Particularly neural types of healing.  It's not (I can't emphasize this enough) *not* instead of what your vet does ... it's simply in addition.

Pet Massage is another thing that can help promote healng so much.  Sometimes they combine it with hydrotherapy -- but both of these things are very acceptable to most regular vets simply because they work so well.
