    It doesn't take much (Bevolasvegas)

It doesn't take much to entertain me.

I'm having a Halloween party Saturday night, so today I stopped by the liquor store to pick up a few things.  To my suprise, they were giving out free samples of various rums in the store.  I was so excited, that I had to call my best freind to tell her.  Somedays, it's the little things in life that entertain me.

     What "little things" entertain you?

My "little" thing of the week (really, it's a BIG thing!) is that Emma will now back up, on command. It's not the three steps back, just the pivot left, but it's a BIG deal. I called four people to tell them, todayWink

Oh man. I am the *queen* of being excited about little stuff.

One of the daycare dogs mom's made us cookies, I was THRILLED.

Those doors that go around and around...the circle kind? Yep. Love those!

Presliced apples. How DO they keep them from getting brown?

    Bliss =

    • eating a fresh, ripe pomegranate while watching a good movie. (Friends preferred, but optional.)
    • reading a book in the bathtub, while drinking a smoothie!
    • finding unexpected money in a pocket/purse
    • getting an awesome coupon in the mail
    • free samples, especially when you're hungry!
    • finding something I'd thought I'd lost
    • finding reruns of my favorite show on TV
    • trying out a new recipe and having it be delicious!
    • fresh flannel sheets, a big puffy comforter, and someone to snuggle with :)

i read that list and everyone elses and wow... i am really screwed up.. i need to see a doctor, get my head checked... i cant think of ANYTHING small that would get me excited or keep me in an extended good mood (meaning yeah a couple of minutes, but not lasting the whole day or even a couple of hours) and thats after sitting here thinking for a couple of minutes... i guess finding money?  i wouldnt mind taking a bath, reading a book and drinking a smoothie but thats more like a pleasurable experience than easy entertainment..

... i need to watch more Disney cartoons or... something.. gawd i am pathetic!!

No Shelly, you'd be drunk.Stick out tongue

Sadly, I declined the samples. (What is the world coming to, when I decline liquor?)

Cita, I love your "little things."

I'm easily stoked by little things too. I high five myself when a light at a busy intersection stays green long enough for me to get thru it Big Smile. I'm not much of a rum drinker, but I get excited by anything "free". Heck they could be giving away free condoms, which I have absolutely no use for, and I'd walk away feeling like I scored.  I need a life huh? Embarrassed

ETA - I was stoked just to see a post by you (Amanda) and Shelly Wink

Anytime my class behaves and tries to learn, I'm excited. Though this may seem the whole reason for going to school, teachers know otherwise lol.

Anyway, we  had one act left to read in Romeo and Juliet, and one boy's "interpretation" cracked me up. He read all of Romeo's lines in a Forrest Gump-like accent, but the best part is that he read everything correctly, pausing where necessary and not at the end of every line the way some people read poetry. So it brought a fun twist to a play we were all tired of hearing about.

We're starting The Mircle Worker tomorrow. God knows what kind of interpretations I'll witness.

You guys got any idea how HEALTHY this is??  Finding "delight" in the small things .. and remembering to LOOK for them .. this is part of what deals with stress and keeps us sane.

    • watching gekko lizards in front of me (I have one that lives under the concrete step outside our door -- I call him "Godzilla" and I TALK to him all the time -- I especially kid him when he's 'showing off' (pulsing his throat) for the ladies, and now there are 'babies' and I told him "WAY TO GO Godzilla!!" the other day
    • Billy and his 'favrit tech, Tom' at Dr. D's - Billy watching the crack under the door for a treat to come sailing, and TOM having a blast doing it
    • I took the day off to do 'errands' and found a BUNCH of 100% cotton shirts for my husband, not just in his size but with the 32/33 length sleeve he prefers AND finding great ties at about 1/4 the price that they would have been otherwise. ($20  not $80)
    • finding a light 'green' at a very busy intersection that is almost never *ever* green and has a LONG red.
    • having the elevator that comes first be the one closest to my door upstairs when my back hurts already from standing and it makes my walk shorter

I love coupons! I have been known to clip coupons for things I'd never buy, and leaving the coupon by that product for someone else to find and use. Yeah, I'm a little nuts...

Oooohhh, I love coupons too. I just found one today for Petco for $5 off total purchase.  Natural Balance is already on sale there, so it feels like a double-bonus. Smile

Pirate's Mom, I've done the same thing with coupons for thing that I'll never buy.

I got all excited this morning because of lavender scented fabric softener sheets.

Jennie, I was the happiest person in the world when Bevo learned to back up, so I understand completely.

I LOVE lizards!!!! I saw one in my friend's yard a few weeks ago and got super excited. I stood outside her house for a good 5 minutes watching him until she finally saw me through the window and wanted to know why I was sticking my butt in the air and talking to her planter.

I'm easily pleased for sure, but the little things get me down more than they should, too. For example, I'd invited a friend to dinner tonight and she couldn't make it, so I spent the next 3 hours sulking. Until I found one of my favorite shows on TV and my experimental dinner turned out to be quite tasty, then I cheered up. Stick out tongue

Talk about little things... I was driving down the street earlier today, the weather was beautiful and the sun was out, and Smokey Robinsons's "Tracks of my tears" came on (its not even like my favorite song or anything, it just seemed to fit the moment), and I sang with my windows down..... Ok, I'm a cheese ball I admit it!
