    (chanting)  Winston, Winston, Winston

Get well and go home so your mommy can quit worrying herself sick!

Glad to hear the good news!

I'm so happy to hear that he is doing so well.  Someone else asked if he will now have an immunity to parvo and be ok in your yard?  I certainly hope so, but I have no idea.  Anyone else?

Thanks for posting the link - somehow I had missed this.

So sorry to hear about Winston.  Get well soon little guy!

Healing prayers being sent from our home to yours.

To those asking about parvo - Yes, once they've had it they won't catch it again.  Any of us could track it from my yard or house to other places, though, so I had to disinfect everything with a bleach solution.  It can live in the house up to a few years, and in the yard for 6 months.

    Mr. Winston is HOME!

He's pretty feisty and wanting to play with Romy.  Romy is a little leary of him since he smells like sick dogs.  [&:]  But I can tell she's also happy to have him home even though he annoys her.  Heehee.
He's VERY hungry, but I'm only allowed to feed him a small bit of SD I/D a couple times a day.  He didn't have any diarrhea while he was there, but I think that's because he was saving it all until he could get out of that kennel.  When he got home he had plenty of it saved for me.  [:'(]  I think that would be normal, but I want to call and talk to them about it, anyway.
I wish I didn't have to feed him the canned SD because he seems itchier, but I think his stomach is too weak right now to process the Canidae.  What do you guys think?

Okay,  romy and winston are trying to rough house.  I need to go!  [:)]

So glad to hear he's home, and I hope the diarrhea is normal and goes away fast. The canned is probably exactly what he needs right now. Hope things continue to go well, we're still sending good vibes. Keep it up Winston!!!!

Good news of Winston started my day out yesterday, and now it's ending my night off good tonight.

I am so glad that he is back home! I would just continue with the diet he is on for now if it were me. His system might not take a switch very well right now.

Give him a ton of hugs from me and Gracie sends sloppery kisses, Boss sends high fives!

Thanks everyone!!  I'm so happy to have him home.

I can't believe how itchy he is!  I will be glad when I can work his regular food back into his diet.  The difference is very very noticeable.  I checked him for fleas, just in case, but there's nothing.  And he was kept in a seperate kennel that was sanitized before he was put in it, so I don't think he would have picked anything up.  I remember he was very itchy when I first found him, I just hadn't realized how much his food had helped with that until now.

He's been full of energy all night.  Annoying Romy, trying to hump her, "killing" a kick ball, and peeing every 15 minutes, just like usual!  He's finally just settled down for bed it looks like.

Winston says THANK YOU for helping him get better so quickly and for keeping his momma sane through it all!!

YAY WINSTON!  I'm SO glad to hear this, you've all been in my prayers.  Parvo is absolutely horrifying.

Do you think it was less severe (as in, didn't kill him or seem to leave any lasting effects) because he was so close to the end of his vaccinations?  Or another reason?  Did the vet mention?  Perhaps it was just the power of prayer [sm=angel.gif]

Yay!  This is wonderful news!  I know what a relief it is to get a furkid home from the hospital.  And I'm sure Winston is deliriously happy to be home.

I just saw that Sera mentioned Winston was near the end of his vaccinations.  I was wondering how old he was and what vacs he'd had - but didn't want to ask those questions until things settled down for you.

They said he did really well for a parvo dog.  They said catching it as early as I did made a difference.  I think it's because I had seen parvo before, and was just very familiar with the signs.  Several years ago I had a roommate who's dog caught parvo, so I think I was hyper-aware, if not a bit paranoid, of it to begin with.  But there's a lot of factors at work here, I think.  I have so many people to thank for helping me through this - all of you who sent prayers and healing vibes, my friend for bringing a parvo test JUST to be sure even though he was still full of energy, and my mom who was totally there for me 100%.  Uh oh....this is starting to sound like I've won an academy award or something.  [;)]

I'm going to go join Mr. Winston and get some sleep.  I'm looking forward to being woken up much too early by his persistent puppy kisses.   Night everyone!

Thank you, Kelly!  Actually he's only had his first set of vac's.  I found him when he was about 2.5 months old, and he's about 5 months old now.  He just recently lost his first baby tooth. :)
