Would you leave your dog outside a store?

I would probably never do it with the poodles (although where I used to live I could). I have done it with my son's GSD and never had a problem with people petting her. Some even crossed the street so they wouldn't have to get too close. She never did anything to frighten them except be a big dog.

Occasionally I leave a dog or dogs in my car for a few minutes (if the weather permits it). It's the only time I lock my car.

Never in a thousand years. [sm=2cents.gif]

:) make that a million for me!  And I can honestly say - it wouldn't matter where I lived.  No matter how slight the risk of him getting stolen, it's too high for me!

LOL, I am afraid of big dogs too, especially if I don't know them. I know it isn't a healthy attitude, but one I have gained from experience and it is hard to overcome fears. I give wide birth to any german shephards, pitt looking dogs, and will sometimes cry if I have to encounter a dobie. I was chased several times by dobies, and I can't get over that fear.

My dogs are smaller, and white, one is JRT and has that, "Please come pet my head and play with my ears" kind of look. I think even *I*, with a healthy fear/respect of even small dogs would want to pet my little guys.

Nope, no way.  My minpin is very cute and hates to be petted by strangers. I would worry about him biting.  And my bichon girls I keep in show coat and they love everyone.  They are so cute and sweet they'd be gone in a hot second I'm sure.
