If I want Cassidy to come over to where I'm at, (and she's usually running around somewhere and I can't always see her) then I whistle or else yell her name and say Come. I realize I use the same word in obedience recalls, but I think she understands the difference. If I have her sit and stay, then walk away and turn around, then I say, Cassidy, Come! And that means to come and sit in front of me. When I'm just practicing, I'll say Front when she gets closer, so that she'll come in close to me and sit, but in a competition or whatever, I just have to say Come. If we're just wandering around and she's running and exploring, I'll call her name and she comes closer to me, like to check up, and then she can go ahead and go again. It sounds pretty confusing, but at least we understand each other! [

For Mirelle, her recall command is Here, and I pretty much use that whenever I want her to come to me. If we're outside and I want her to follow along with me, I say something like 'This way' or 'C'mon'.
