do any of you have friends/relatives who are bybs?

I'm trying to talk my sister out of it.  She's one step away from a byb IMO - a "just one litter" breeder.  She plans to let her bitch have one litter before being speyed.  Of course, she will just pick a healthy, goodlooking male of the same breed to be the father and convenience and locality will feature higher on the list of priorities than any accordance to the breed standard or temperament.  My dad is old school and has been encouraging her because it will be "good" for her and it will make it easier for the vet to do the op.  Dad, wake up.  Vets have been doing the op on a daily basis for YEARS.  They don't need that kind of help to find what they are looking for!  Trust me!  Argh!!!!  How can anyone be so ignorant????  If she goes ahead with it I'll SCREAM I really will!!!! Sadly, yes. My aunts Schnauzer was going to be bred to a poolds for snoodles or something stupid like that, if they didn't have an malnourished oops litterright now. I think she could have told people who would have bought her puppies to go onto petfinder [:@][:@][:@]

I recently had to change hair stylists. She repeatedly breeds her Chi and sells the pups to anyone willing to pay at five to six weeks because "they drive her crazy". She has sold female pups to every other hair stylist in her shop and now every one of them is a BYB'er. Oh and they all thought it was terribly cute to pierce the dogs ears and eyebrows. Just couldn't take it any more.
