Inside/Outside Pet

And I think it's cruel to make a pet of something only to eat it later,

Any more cruel than treating it like livestock, then eating it? Wouldn't it be nice if the chicken had a good life? Why would you eat a chicken, anyways? Chickens are gross.....

I've not kept a chicken inside, but they do make chicken harness/diapers, for that purpose.  Well, at least they have them for ducks and geese. I don't think the idea of a pet chicken is outlandish at all. Keeping them in the house might be a bit of a challenge, LOL. The chickens I've had have had their own houses.

while i agree we could be treating alot more animals humanely by giving them a nice indoor home, i do not feel wild animals have any reason to be brought indoors, and no one has the right to make pets of them.

ETA: just because an animal can be domesticated, does not mean it needs to/should be.

I'm of the opinion that you are correct!  Well said.
