Why are you attracted to your breed?

I love all kinds of dogs. I will admit that I prefer 25 lb. size and up, though Jack Russells are an exception. However, I can't have one because most dogs with wirey coats give me a rash. [sm=sad.gif]

Sofia is beautiful, smart and to see her jump up is to think she can simply levitate herself into the air, it's so effortless. She's also very, very funny. She's siberian/elkhound/coyote.

I like dogs that have good natural instincts. For instance, dogs who will not soil their living spaces, dogs who prefer to go out into the woods to poop, rather than on every square foot of the yard. It sure makes house-training a breeze!

Stevie was dobie/rottie and I think the most loyal dog of all. Hunter was chessie and aussie, another very loyal, loving friend. Sadie was lab and elkhound/heinz. ALL of them were great mousers, and Sadie could catch gophers, quite an accomplishment.

I LOVE hounds. I've had two bloodhounds and would take a hound in a heartbeat.

I want a Norwegian elkhound really bad. They are smart, funny, loyal and very trainable. Plus they are ideally suited to my home climate. I think an elkhound would be the ideal friend for Sofia, unless somehow Stevie could be reincarnated.

But if I saw a dobie or rottie mix who needed a home I would definitely be RIGHT THERE!

What is there not to love about a German Shepherd or a Siberian Husky[;)]

I love the spitz breeds best. I really like those foxy faces and little (or huge) prick ears. On top of that, I love the streak of independence they tend to display. That combined with their intelligence makes them a bundle of fun. I adore a dog that can surprise me with what they can come up with to get what they want. And I like a dog that you have to earn respect from.

I think it's the independence I like best. They act like grownup dogs more than kids.

I want an akita at the moment, for all the reasons Gina listed. They're so full of dignity and they have this air about them that they can totally look after themselves.

I also like hounds. I really like a dog that has a strong prey drive. And I think they're beautiful, even the dachsunds. [:)] Not until the hare and rabbit have passed on, though. My hare has the same breathtaking grace hounds do, but I don't think I could live with the risk of the hound and the hare not getting on, so he'll have to do for the moment.
