Red Devil, do you still have that link?  I went looking, but didn't find him listed anywhere.  It looks like the adoptive families submit the pet for Happy Tails (success stories) but I hadn't done that.  He was originally posted as Michael but we call him Mack ( like Mack the truck).  He is a gigantic yellow doggie. :))  Jules

I hope this works.  I'm not sure how to add links.  I saved Chow's
Petfinder picture to my desktop.  I think they call it "Gotcha Day"
on this forum so it's fun to have a copy of the adoption page.
Your right, Mac does look like a yellow bus..he is huge.

Yeayy!  Thankyou so much [sm=wink2.gif] Yep, that's my guy all right.  The pic was taken at a really cool pet hotel where he was kept after being srung from doggy jail.  When you get hit with his tail, it's like being hit with a board.  I need to keep a camera handy he has been sleeping on his back with his feet in the air lately and he looks like a four poster bed lol    Jules

    He's beautiful.

He's really beautiful when he isn't running off with my son's hotdog and an ear of fire roasted salted and buttered farm fresh corn!!   Jules
PS I love my new doggy.  :))))

Sneaky devil...puts his muzzle on my shoulder and licks my face while I'm sitting here reading.  I talk to him and he is grinning huge.  Then he blasts me with a sbd that could power a submarine and goes and lies down.  PPphheewwwwww     [:'(]   Jules

I'm overdue for an update, I've had some distractions lately including trying to figure out why Mack was growling (thread in behavior - aggression section).  So with an increase of vigilance and training the whole family plus meds I think everything will be okay.  One thing I have to do now is make my bed every single day!  I'm one of those lazy folks who doesn't see a point to it until we got Mack... after having to wash my sheets three times in one week I either make my bed or have to shave it.  Him being half Lab he is shedding heavily so making the bed and putting an old blankie over the pillows is really helping.  He is a major bed hog too.  I make him get off my bed just so I can get into it at all.  He takes his half right out of the middle lol  Thankfully his diet is good so he does not stink which is great cause he doesn't understand 'personal space' [sm=proud.gif]
He'za good doggy tho.   :)  Jules

Jeepers, I just realized this morning, that Mack's collar didn't 'jingle'...I get a hold of him and find that his tags are gone.  How the heck?  And, how long have the little devils been gone?  What kind of doggy-mamma doesn't notice something like that, especially when he is getting brushed daily.   Somedays I wonder who is really driving my car while I am in the driver's seat lol   Now I have to go out back and see if by chance I can find two shiny tags...Aarggh
I guess the good part is that there aren't too many places they could be...  Jules

Well I looked around the backyard today for Mack's tags....no luck.  Mentioned to son's daddy about missing tags, he looked at me dumbfounded.  Missing tags? So tomorrow all of us are going on a tag hunt, and if no success, then the same search in the frontyard. That's almost thirty dollars in tags laying around somewhere.  I may get the neighbors up outta bed and have 'em help me look (providing I don't get run off at gun point lol)  Dangit, I really wish I had noticed sooner.  He really has become the perky little beast now that he is back on Rimadyl, and even growled at the evil trash containers parked in the storm gutter out front.  You know how trash cans sneak around and wink at you when no one else is looking, I think Mack caught one making funny faces at him or something.  Like I have mentioned before in another thread, he has this menacing growl, that could motivate a dead guy out of his casket and up a tree.  He stood there making these deeeeep throaty noises like he was gonna tear the cans from limb to limb.  I petted him and asked him what was his issue with that mean 'ol can he just smiled at me and thumped his tail.  (I guess it's their lil secret).  Jules

Well after a grueling Saturday of yard work, no tags yet.  Ggrrr....
That silly dog, I bought him some really big bones to chew (not rawhide ones) they are cooked looking and have soft greasy feeling marrow in them YUK...and he totally ignores them. Okay fine, I figure after them being on the floor for over a month untouched, I was gonna toss them over my fence to the dog next door.  She is a beautiful black lab and she has no toys or anything.  She is outside and ignored a lot.  I walked over to the fence and called her very softly.  She stands up, and I see that now they are chaining her back there as well so if I go through with this, I'm really gonna have to 'huck' it good for it to make it close.  She is standing there, wagging her tail at me happy for attention. She is beautiful and sweet natured, her owners are idiots.  Anyway, all the sudden, I get pushed, and Mack takes 'HIS' bone out of my hand and trots off with it.  He goes off by himself (he never does this he always wants to be near) and really starts working this bone.  He was at it for an hour, I couldn't believe that fartdog.  I kept everyone out of the backyard and Mack had some serious private time with his 'new' 'special' bone that he just got lol....I'm gonna get Romey her own bone and hope her owner doesn't have a fit, but I will take my chances....or maybe toss one of Mack's ignored toys over there for her to destroy.  [;)]  Jules

Sorry to hear you haven't found the dog-tags yet! Must be ultra-frustrating...

It was a nice of you to think to give Mack's unwanted bone to the dog next door- she sounds like she's gotten a bit of a raw deal- too bad Mack didn't want to share though! [8D]

TY Vinia, I will have to keep looking for them dang tags...
as far as the dog next door, her owner is a dingaling.  His first dog was allowed to wander the neighborhood and shock of all shocks she was hit by a car and died.  When I mentioned I was adopting a dog, he asked if I wanted Romey because she is a 'pain in the neck'.  As if she has some nerve breathing air.  She is very pretty.  Glossy jet black, about ninety pounds, very very sweet natured.  She cries a lot for attention but he yells at her for doing that.  They do feed her, and she gets a walk with the family at least once a week.  It could be a whole lot worse for her, I just don't like how they ignore her and they don't appreciate what a great dog she is.  Because my property is elevated, I can see down into their backyard so I try to talk to her often especially since she can't even come over to the fence now to visit.  She and Mack have been nose to nose several times with a lot of tail wagging so I think they get along pretty good.  I am going to offer some of Mack's toys to her.  So far the only thing he shows interest in is chewing on sticks from the yard, and now that bone I was going to give Romey.
Anywho, I really gotta find them darn tags....[:@]
    Love to All......... Jules

Yesterday was one of those days where I was envious of Mack.  I was out doing yard work, and there he was snoozing away underneath two lilac bushes.  It was bright and hot out, birds twittering away, the flowers smelled wonderful, me sweltering and Mack was unconscious to the world on soft cool earth in the shade.  I keep it weeded, watered, and tilled by hand so it was nice under there, I wanted to crawl down there with him and dream of chasing fuzzy bunny rabbits.  *sigh*  Jules

We have a Bernner and she is still a puppy but a wonderful dog, we have 4 children 11-2 in ages and she does VERY well with all, they can't take her for a walk because of some other dogs in the neighborhood who have an invisable fence and think they don't (she can pull the kids down to the ground) She tolerates a lot from the kids, and I do have to watch her 24/7 because when she plays she can push the 2 and 5 yr olds over.  But a great breed I love her!!!!!!
