Virtual Dogz

Yeah, it's changed a lot.  I got mine in 7th grade and had the basic breeds and just played with a few petz.  Now I've downloaded a bunch of breeds and tools to get the dogs to age  faster etc and don't really play with them but mainly focus on showing and breeding them.  There's lots of variety in the community now, but I tend to stick to the same groups and clubs.

Just to show you how much things have changed:

Original dogz breedfile versus newer created breedfile

Original catz breedfile (added markings) versus newly hexed breedfile.

It amazes me what people have been able to do with these.

ok, I want to play.  do I buy this game, do I downloaded, what's the skinny?

I am at work until 1:30 am today and it is boring, there is nothing to do.

I had catz/dogz the first one and got catz/dogz 4 a few years back it's at my dad's. I had about 25 dogz, 4 catz, and one pig. Been thinking about getting catz/dogz 5 since I heard they have gsd on it, but was afraid it may be a little *cough* childish. I also got made fun of by one of my friends for playing it.

I might buy Nintendogs... anyone have that?

Ypu can find all of them on Amazon.com I believe... although they stopped making Petz 3/4 so it will be harder to find (I prefer those over 5).

I've been playing Petz since I was six years old... I'm now seventeen. It's a hobby that you don't come out of too easily, and a lot of fun! However, as far as the actual game goes, there's no real objectives (unless you own Petz 5, which is awful so I don't recommend it), so the real fun is in showing the dogs.

The CKC used to exist too, but I'm not sure what happened to it. Anyway for those of you not interested in showing, there are many, many breeds on those sites that you can download!

There was also the KCA (Kennel Club Association) which had a lot of potential, but after the second time of going under, it never came back. >-.-<

Petz 4 is MUCH better than p5.  I've got both, but refuse to use p5, and the majority of people use p4 and p5 petz aren't usable in p4 so if you ever want to adopt out any petz, p4 people can't take p5 petz.

I show in the PKC mainly and the DFA some, but I prefer PKC.  DFA is based on AKC and PKC is FCI.  PKC is the longest still standing kennel club in petz.  I also judge there.  :)

    RIP KCA and DKC

For breeds here's a nice site that the lovely Nova put together- [linkhttp://breedzfind.lokatt.se/dogz.htm]http://breedzfind.lokatt.se/dogz.htm[/link]

EDIT:  Jenna, it took me forever to figure out who you were! xD

:O Petz thread!  I'm also a PKC/DFA member and have been actively showing online since I was 12 (now 17).  The game itself is pretty boring and childish for me if you actually want to like... feed your petz and stuff, but I LOVE showing and the online community for it.  A lot of my favorite people I met playing petz!

I would also never recommend P5; I own both dogz and catz 5 and don't use them at all.  They're GARBAGE hahah.  I also use dogz/catz 4.
