help name my dog

    • Gold Top Dog
I like Millie and Ally (Allie - whichever)

We almost named Bailey Ally but DH wanted Bailey.

But mostly I like Kayla, were going to name our baby that if its a girl, after Kayla.

Of the names you like you should try saying them out loud a whole bunch of times because you will be doing that!

im going to adopt an adult dog from a shelter or foster home, im not totally set on a certain breed but right now im looking at a boxer/pit bull mix and a retriever mix, but im unsure about how i feel about the long hair.

after discussing with my kids and all of us practicing saying the names out loud to a pretend dog, we have a revised list:  Emma

of course its still open to further revision, especially when we actually get her hehe.

and Jake if we wind up with a boy

For a girl - Summer, Sky, India, or Indie, Trixabelle or Trixy, Ashley and last but not least Amelia oh and Macy or Mazie.

For a boy - Harley, Harvey, Blake, Jake, Sammy, Marcelle and the old fave Max or Maximus.

I have always thought that naming is so difficult. You can come up with all kinds of names and the one you really like just doesn't seem to fit when the time comes! Sometimes, the names just come out without a thought at first sight and others take alot of effort (in my case, lol).
What ever name you choose, I am sure it will be JUST right for your new addition [;)]

    Good luck in your search.

I had a cat I  named  Cassidy and she actually listened to it. Some of our dogs have human names: Molly, Tasha, Chase, Chelsea,Jessie. Our oldest dog is 11 and a woman that had found her as a pup named her Charity. I had a dog from the shelter once and I named her after a german book. I called her Momo. It was about a little girl that was lost and her adventures. Since Momo was 3 or 4 months old and ended up in the pound I figured she was a little lost girl and I figured the name fit her well.

What kind of name do you want?  You can go to [linkhttp://www.dog-names.us]www.dog-names.us[/link] and they'll give you a list of about 6,000 dog names and the meanings behind the names.  I named my baby Schatzie.  It's a German slang term of endearment like honey or sweetie.

A co-worker had a female lab x pitbull named Baby Girl. A friend with a Great Pyrenees calls her Lilly. I had a disastrously funny thought of naming a female dog Bitch. You would get strange looks in public when you called her by name. "Stay, Bitch."

You might try Lola, Minerva, Fatima (arabic), Marlene, Bethany.

I think the simpler the name, the easier it is for the dog to respond to a name.
