[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] - It's very heartwarming to know he's home sleeping peacefully on his new, comfy bed (in his very own bedroom, no less).  So glad to hear there aren't any longterm health issues too.  I'm sure you'll all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I am so relieved to hear that Marlowe is back home and doesn't seem to have any abnormalities! That truly is wonderful!

I hope you ALL enjoyed your chilly walk together!!!

OMG!  I'm never leaving my computer @ home again.  I'm coming to this thread after being off line for 5 days, hence my silence about one of my FAVORITE houndies.  I'm soooooooooooo glad that Marlowe is home & with his family.  Marlowe, Grady told me to tell you that he's so glad you're home & safe but mostly do not eat anything that your mom doesn't give you.  It's okay to sneak an occasional goose turd but that's it.

Yay Marlowe!  Welcome home, boy!  Don't scare your mom so much, okay?  Kiss his lovey face for me.

I had to post a reply to change the Subject header. [:D]

Now I'm off to surf the interwebz for pet insurance. Every time something happens we're like, "You know, we really should get insurance. Yes, let's do that." And then we don't, until something else happens and we say the same thing again.

    This time, for real. Insurance.

SOOOO glad to hear Marlowe is home and all is better!!  What a scary experience......  Glad it all turned out okay.  Certainly made me much more aware about things I might leave out for a little bit.  Sammy LOVES to go garbage-surfing while I'm in the shower and DH is still sleeping..... sneaky little booger.  I know how quickly they get something and how long it might take to notice it........

I haven't done much research into pet insurance - I assume it's a bit like human insurance and would cover accidents like that?  I'm sure it got to be pricy with several days at the vet's.  Good luck with that!

Also sent you a PM about the house ( you mentioned in another thread)  :)

Welcome Home Marlowe!  [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] I'm so glad you're okay and that you're home where you'll get some much needed peace and quiet in your very own special room with a new bed and everything!!!

Cressida, I'll bet your DH is even more relieved than you are!  It's true what one of the other posters said, that generally speaking, the female caretaker tends to be more aware of everything affecting a pet's well-being.  Maybe it's the hunter vs. gatherer concept.  The male is more single-focus-minded (looking for prey), while the female tends to have more "wide" vision, scanning the horizon for predators (or medicine bottles!) while spotting good things to gather for food.  That's my completely unofficial analysis!  But, in our house, I'm definitely more vigilant about things that could affect a pet than DH is!

Anyway, I'm really glad Marlowe pulled through so well.  He must be so glad to be home!!  A big hug for him and some rubs for his ears!
