Too darned smart for MY own good!

Tyler is afraid of the vacume.  Now I don't know WHY because he was used to the vacume and even the big old shop vac from a VERY young age, but after his little "vacation" the vacume terrifies him.  He's not afraid of the canister part of the vac, but rather the wand, so I suspect that someone got tired of the typical gsd shedding (in that OTHER place) and maybe decided to vacume him??

Anyway, vacuming yesterday and I was using the canister vac.  If I plug it in in the hallway, I can reach all over the first floor without moving the plug.  But for SOME reason, the darned thing kept coming unplugged.  Hmmmmm.  And everytime that it happened, there was Tyler walking back down the hall to my office.  Double hmmmmmm.  So I had Todd hide in the bathroom and peek through the almost closed door.  The little SPIT would wait until I got going in another room, walk down the hall, nudge the plug out of the wall and then hightail it back to the office!

And this folks, is why you REALLY need to know what you're getting into before you get a german shepherd!  [:D][:D][:D][:D]

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    That's PRICELESS.
    How adorable!

I can SO see Ella doing that someday. She HATES the vacuum!

Smart, but don't let him talk to Biscotti about that!  Could be a bit dangerous, too...

Dang it, Glenda! You beat me to the smart dog stories. That's too smart for a dog.

This morning, we found the piece of carpet we keep for wet shoes near the front door was moved on to the regular carpet. I assumed DW did it. She got up and then asked me if I moved it. Well, Jade is not big enough to move it. Ergo, Shadow.

Do we have a canine uprising?

    Sure sounds like it!

The wierd thing is that Todd said he put his paw on the CORD where it comes out of the plug and then nudged the cord.  Guess he'll have to go outside or to a crate from now on when I vacume.  But, I thought that was just toooooo funny!

Hahahahaha!! Thankfully, Grey just barks like an idiot when we're vaccuuming. I'm glad he hasn't figured out how to unplug it.

Wow!!!  My cat Tucker would love to learn that trick.  The cats hate the vacuum.  Sunny (dog) on the other hand could not care less and will even let me vacuum him with the wand.  I am with the cats I hate to vacuum  but unfortunately I don't have any choice in the matter as the cats and Sunny are big into shedding.

    Great story!

And this is why I limit Jessie's time at daycare -- she knows enough scary things without her learning new tricks from a vacuum unplugging dog! : )

Tell me about it.  Three of the six german shepherds are doing a major coat blow right now and the other three are getting there fast.....I vacume constantly and still have to cover the furniture so I have a fur free place to sit when I wanna sit....after I take the covers off that is!

Indeed. [:D] I think they are planning to take over the planet. In fact, I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who said that if aliens from another planet landed here and observed us for awhile, they'd come to the conclusion that dogs were in charge. His reason was that if you saw two species walking along together and every time one of them stopped to poop, the other one ran and picked it up, who would you think the leader was?

It was Jerry Seinfeld! DH repeats that to me every morning when I am scooping the cat boxes. [:'(]

Glenda, Tyler is way too smart. [:D]

You have a fur free place to sit when you want to sit??????????  How do you do that?????
barbara  inquiring mind wants to know
    • Gold Top Dog
Ah, well, during coat blowing season I cover the chairs and sofa, and then when I want to sit, I UNCOVER them.  If it's not horribly furry I can shake it off outside, otherwise, back to the wash it goes.

Shadow's been blowing coat, too. He'll start growing a new one next month when the days get shorter.
