You know your in love with your dog when......

I'm almost embarrassed by how many of these things describe me.

In fact, I used to have this fabulous rainshower head that I loved unbelievably much. Total luxury, that! But Jessie likes to go to the beach, and she gets all sandy and muddy, bad enough that a regular bath just doesn't do it. She'd tolerate the shower, but she never really liked the rainshower thing, and it took me so long to get her rinsed off that way, so she had to tolerate it for along, long time.

So I switched my fabulous rainshower out for a hand shower. The spray isn't nearly as nice, it always comes out cold for the first two minutes while the hot water works it's way through the long hose to the spout, and it's not all that pretty to look at...but Jessie prefers getting bathed this way.

I wonder sometimes when I started working my life and my home around my dog. My Mom used to joke that "You get a dog to make YOU happy, not so you can make the dog happy."

But the thing is, when you have a dog, you're that dog's whole life. So it seems to me that you SHOULD be making them happy, because if you don't, who will?

Don't feel bad abut 80% of those describe me as well.

I rented houseboat last summer, Romeo loves swimming and he kept wanting to jump off every time, so I stopped to get him a kiddie pool,  filled it with water from the lake and problem solved... of course when we went swimming he would go with, but for the rest of the time he was the one with his very own pool. I can relate to all of those too. . .especially the one about the pick up bags.  I've had people ask me why I've got so many plastic bags with me, LOL.  If anyone needs a bag at work they come to me first!  [:D]

Too true. Love this - thanks for posting [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

Aww this is so cute and so true!

The way I see it, having to walk Cookie will always get me out of going to things that I don't want to or doing something I'm not to fond of. For instance, wow look at the time, I've gotta go home and walk the dog. [:D] Works every time.

wow, we share the same personality traits.  There's one more I would add to the list:

You know you love your dog when: when you get home from work, no matter how badly you have to go, the dog gets to go out to potty first.  After all he's been holding it all day.

LOL! Yes, I do this too. I'm glad it's not just me. [:D

I guess that's true for this whole thread though. It's a good feeling to know that there are people out there who are as nutty about their dogs as I am about mine.

This was great!     [:D]        Thanks for posting Sheprano!  Made my day!

I am with Lori( Willowchow) about the dog bags. .  .can't tell you how many I find in the wash that I forgot to take out of my pocket!    Right now I have 4 sets on my work desk (as though I will need them there) and the highlight of my weekend was finding a sale on 4 gallon size size trash bags to use for picking up the poopy. I bought 8 boxes of them and seriously am considering picking more up before the sale ends in 2 days!  [:D]

    I would also consider adding:
"before the work day ends, you and DH decide on a location for that evenings family outing with the dogs because the dogs love the car so much you can't stand the thought of depriving them of their daily ride to a new walking location"
Last night was a bucket of KFC in the  ;park with a walk around the cities museums and fountains and tonight is an "greyhound race" in a ball field!

    My other addition would be:
"you decide to feed the dogs a third meal a day instead of just 2 because you figure that you wouldn't want to eat only twice a day so why should they ( . .  .and you secretivly have had thoughts of dividing their food into 4 meals!)"

Glad you all got a kick outta it, if I had to add my own they would be.....

"you spend two months house hunting because your landlord decideds he no longer wants [it bulls on the property"

    or
" you break up with the hottest guy you've ever met because he dosnt like your dog"

Yea those were hard ones for me!

All but a handful of those apply to me.

I have to laugh at how many of them are true around here.  However, Madi can only ride in the back of the car.  Everyone laughs at the dog drool that is plastered to the side of my car from our trips to the park and back.  That stuff is stronger then glue!

I put a spliter on the shower head.  This way the adults can use the normal shower head and then I can switch over to the hose for the kids.  [&:]

And how many have gone to dinner at someone's house, or a nice restaurant, taken your jacket off and had dog treats spill out across the floor? [:)][:)]

I spend more time planning and preparing the dogs meals than i do my own.We end up with alot of mac and cheese and ramen noodles.
My childrens movie collection contains every family movie that has dogs in it.
I can tell which pile of poop belongs to each of the 11 dogs without seeing who left it.
I have thrown away my personal belongings, furniture ect to make room for dog beds.
There are many many more of these plus all of the previously mentioned ones.

** you always buy him/her a new toy when you go to the store b/c your dog searches the bags when you come in and you feel like a jerk if you don't have anything**

shadow loves new plush toys and gets really exited when I come back from the grocery store and now his toy basket is overflowing!!! We wouldn't have it any other way!
