I just couldn't resist (new addition)

Well, last week there was this stray cat that showed up one night and we couldn't figure out where it came from. So of course I put some food and a blanket out for it and figured if it was still there in the morning I'd try to decide what to do with it. I didn't see it again until last night when I saw my neighbor carrying it and I asked if it was his cat, he said no that it was a stray his son had brought home and he was trying to get rid of it. I told him then that I didn't want it, but then tonight his son came to my door wanting me to buy candy (which I did of course[:D]) and I asked him if his dad had found a home for the cat, and he said no. So, whats a girl to do? I told him I would take her so he promptly brought her over and now I'm sitting here wondering what the heck I've gotten myself into!!!! So, here's a picture of the girl right now, shes incredibly thin and I'm going to have to make a vet appointment for her soon to get her spayed. So, here she is, the nameless filthy new addition to my family!!

Awwwww - kudos to you.  This little girl needed you!  She looks like she'll be very pretty when she's cleaned up - I'm formally requesting an after picture as soon as one is available......

I had a stray show up on my porch last week. I searched and searched for someone to take him, no one would. I couldn't call AC so I called my vet and they called a rescue.
I couldn't keep kitty in my house as I could see something was going on with his eyes, he had fleas, and I'm positive he had worms. He NEEDED to see a vet. I didn't have the money for that.

My local dog healthfood store gave me some Innova samples to get me through the weekend.
He went wandering off my porch and I think my neighbors took him in.

She's pretty and she'll look even better after you take her to the vet and she's eating good food consistently!

Congrats on your new family member!

Yay! A new meezer!! I can't wait to see how she turns out once she gets cleaned up. Have you thought of any names yet?

Bless your heart!  Most people just ignore these poor strays, and they have no good life.  I am certain she is grateful to you for a nice place to sleep and food to eat.  And THANK YOU for getting her spayed asap!  I took in a rescue cat several months ago as well and got her spayed immediately.  She is getting a little chunky now, but at least she wont be able to produce more "strays" in the future.

She's a cutie! How could you resist?

I know how you feel -- I actually spent the better part of the last few days trying to find a home for the Siamese mix kit I found the other day, because I knew if I didn't find him a home, he'd be living here, and I already have two cats and one tremendous dog. Fortunately, I think I found a galpal who wants him.

I'm embarassed to admit I'm a tad disappointed, even though I KNOW he'll have a great home, and I double know that I don't need another cat. But he was really, really sweet, and Jessie was in love with him, and he had the cutest little face...

In any case, congrats on your new family member!! And kudos to you for rescuing him!

Well, you asked for after pictures so I hope your prepared!!! When it comes to the camera I tend to get a little trigger happy, so I hope you all have fast connections[:D]. I'm finding out that I could not have rescued a more perfect cat, she is completely litter trained, loves nothing more than to be held and snuggled (which my foster dog doesn't really like to do, he's too  busy ya know[;)]), and although shes pretty vocal it's not yet at the annoying part. And the thing I like best about her is that she doesn't hesitate to put Sport in his place, but she's also affectionate and playful with him too. I'm thinking it will do Sport a lot of good to have this as his first interactions with a cat, because he's learning to respect cats but not to the point where he's scared to death or hates them. I haven't thought of names yet, so any suggestions are welcome as always!!

What a big beautiful bushy tail she has.  We just got a new kitten 2 weeks ago and are all fighting over the name so I'm not much help there.  But I know my son would say Socks because of his all white feet and legs. He likes popular names like that and I want something off the wall.  Good luck.

Wow, what a difference!  She is a beauty!  Good Luck with her.

Actually, she looks exactly like two cats that my friend had which he names sylvester and sylvester jr. (sylvester jr. was sylvesters son, they were barn cats). But of course I can't name a girl cat sylvester, so I'm still trying to come up with something.
