I'm new on this forum and I'm finding out FAST that I may not be able to keep up with the traffic here. Holy cow, do you guys ever move, eh? I can't believe how many people are online and how many posts there are per day. You guys are great!

I'm not all too experienced with dogs, but I do have a nine year old Labrador Retriever named Kyra. She's my "heart dog"! I don't think I'll be able to find a dog as sweet as her ever again. However, I do have some issues with her obedience that I may seek help with here.[&:]

Since this is NDR, I suppose I'll introduce myself and my family. My name is Eileen -- but PLEASE, call me "Eily". I'm married to a kind, caring man named Kevin, we wed last December. We are also the guardians to seventeen year old, Stephanie. Her parents are donks, so she wound up with us! Hopefully, you don't have to hear me vent about her!! LOL!

I look forward to getting to know you all, as well as your pooches. In fact, I'm absolutely beside myself with excitement! I've never been involved in such a fast-tracked BUT I hope I can keep up. Talk to you all soon...

Hi. Welcome to idog. Don't worry about keeping up...heck, I've been here almost 3 years and I'm still trying to catch up!

I'm Glenda. I have four rescue cats and six, count 'em, six, german shepherds...in my defense, I failed fostering THREE times. Oh, I have an ancient gold fish too. Two adult sons, one loving hubby of 23 years and a probably a few loose screws!

We have some great trainers on board, so ask away! Me? I'm just an old broad with a lot of dog experience under my belt...not an expert on much of anything.

Welcome! You will find such a wealth of knowledge and experience here.

I am relatively new myself...I have had dogs off and on all my life (all elderly rescues) and recently decided to get my "forever dog" so I am now mum to 12 week old Ben, a black lab. I have never owned a puppy before so I am always asking all sorts of things here, and have received wonderful help and support.

Pull up a chair (with the dog at your feet) and make yourself at home. You may not know it yet, but you are already addicted to idog. [

Welcome, this forum is the greatest. I have a 9yr.old female papillion named Trixie and a 7 yr.old male (devil dog) Brando. I live in nj with my wonderful hubby Joe. I guess you didn't read the laws of this forum we need lots of pictures of Kyra.

Welcome to the forum and just a word of warning - it can be very addicting. I have 2 labs, well a lab mix whose 10 (Buffy) and a black lab, Sassy, who we think is about 7. There both sweet as can be unless they're having female issues with each other [:@].

There's a great group of people here and a wealth of knowledge. If we don't know the answer, we just make things up [

Welcome to the forum Eily,
I hope you enjoy your stay, and learn something from this great forum. Everyday I'm learning something new. I do not have that much experience with dogs, But this forum help me give an idea what to expect and what I need to know before owning a dog. I'm in the process on adopting a dog right now and I hope I HOPE!! that they will pick me to adopt the dog. The dog I'm adopting is a Sherperd(sp?) mixed. She is in her foster home now (but she was rescue by a rescue center). I'm not sure her bg, but I know that she needs alot of care, attention, and most importantly Love. So I hope they chooses me to care and love the dog that I'm in the process of adopting. And if I do succeed, I think I'm going to post lots of questions/helps on this forum. hehe.

Anyways, Don't forget to post pictures of your furchild(ren) in the Photo to Share forum.

I hope you enjoy the forum, you'll find almost every question you ask will be answered, there are so many dog experts on here.
I own a Toy Poodle X named Teddy and a Retriever mix named Jasper.
Im looking forward to seeing photos of Kyra, she sounds adorable.

Howdy.

There are peak traffic times here. And often people will exchange failry rapidly, making it seem like chat.

Evidently in the habit of rescuing animals. In 1988, picked a 5 month stray kitten off the streets. I had her until last year when it was her time to go, almost 17 years old. Labor Day, got our dog from a friend. That's him in the avatar pic. A few days, just got another kitten. I have a thread in another section about that.

There's a few experts here but most of us are just dog fanciers.

Don't worry about not being able to keep up. I still miss stuff...lol. I'm Garrett btw and my partner is Paul. We have a 4-5 yo GSD adopted from the shelter (Sasha) and a failed foster Jake who is and English Pointer. We also have a cat who is about 4yrs. old that we adopted from a vets office in a town we lived in before. Look forward to getting to know you and your pets! Oh yes and we may be getting a new foster a Siberian Husky . Just to hold until transport can be arrnaged to permanent foster up North,

Hi, Eily - welcome to you and Kyra. My crew is in my signature line - Pofi is about 20 months old - he was an abandoned pup of unknown origin, but he's my boy. Just 3 months ago we got him a companion - Mia is 8 months old and a Golden mix - adopted her through a rescue org. Also have 3 cats and a hubby, Ken.
