    Impulse Purchase

Here I was being the good daughter & getting a marking pen for my father's clothes.  He's in an assisted living facility now & they do his laundry.  Anyway, I walk into the store where I know they have the desired pen.  They also sell vacuums & sewing machines.  What do I see on the floor but a used Dyson Animal.  Instead of walking out of the store with a marking pen I walk out with a vacuum AND the pen.  The price was so good, I couldn't walk away from it.  Please tell me I spent good money & the Dyson is all it's cracked up to be.  I'm suffering from buyers freak out right now. ~L~

We bought a dyson just recently....
The best investment......you would not imagine what comes out of your carpet...good for you for getting it on sale.....we got a great sales person @ sears who gave us an extra $100 off....

I have no regrets about spending that kind of money on it...
just wait til you see what comes out of your carpets....it's truly amazing....

My husband and I are obsessed with our Dyson animal.  See my icon for the white fur we live with, as well as two cats.  The vacuum is AWESOME.  If you haven't used it yet, do the dyson test.  Use your regular vacuum, vacuum well as you normally would.  THEN, re vacuum immediatley with the dyson.  We did this and filled the dyson canister TWICE on our first cleaning (1000 ft apartment).  Feel great about your purchase... I would have paid double for mine (it was a graduation gift from my husband, and I love it)hahaha

You will LOOOOOVE the Dyson Animal. They haven't been on the market all that long, so the only reason I can think of that someone would have traded one in is if they're one of those people who just have to have the latest model of everything. It's really kind of fun to vacuum and watch the cannister fill up with hair.[:D] I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me, does it?

Are those the ones that sell for around $400? I have seen them advertised. We don't have any carpet in the house thou. Only tile. Wonder thou what kind of dirt would come out of my couch and lazyboys despite the blankets we try to keep on them at all times.

Apparently my mom and I are the only ones who hate this thing. I hope you have better luck with it than we did.

I absolutely love my Animal - it really sucks (dog hair, that is...) [;)]

The only thing about the Dyson that I'm not too crazy about is the hose.  It's fine if you're sucking cobwebs off the ceiling[:D]but if you're using it on furniture or the floor, it tends to kink in weird places. Overall though, it's a great vacuum - the best one I've ever had.

I don't have the Animal but the yellow cannister.  Generally, I love it and it does suck up great and we also couldn't believe the difference in our rugs when we first used it.

The only issue we are having with ours is that the roller seems to have worn out rather quickly and it has effected it's power.

Overall though, I wouldn't hesitate to say it's definately better than any vacuum I've ever owned.

I can't wait to use it now!  I have this big purple vacuum in my kitchen waiting to be used.  I'm waiting for the store to send me a hose that fell off before I can use it.  Last night, I cleaned the filters & the filter holder & read up on the machine.  Now I'm ready to go.  I've NEVER been excited about cleaning my house until now. ~L~  Anyone want to buy 2 used vacuums? ~L~  I got the Dyson to condense my vacuum situation.

PS: I spent $200 for thevacuum.

Isn't that purple the coolest color for a vacuum?  I leave it sitting out in the room with the purple rug. [:D]

Purple rocks!  Unfortunately it doesn't go with anything in my house.  Must-re-decorate-to-match-vacuum. ~L~
    • Gold Top Dog
Sure! Redecorate to match vacuum- cuz now that you have the *Animal* you won't have to redecorate to match dog hair. [:D][:D]

I think you got a great deal.  I want one too but the one's I've seen are between $400-$500.

Okay, it's official, I'm in love with my vacuum.  It totally rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cathy, I wanted a Dyson too but didn't have the $500 to plunk down for one.  This one is used that's why I got the good deal.  Never say never & keep your eyes open.  Ya never know when one might come your way.  There was a regular Dyson @ the store, if you're interested, I can go look & see about it shipped to you.  Let me know.  I'll be in the area again on Tuesday.
