    Cleaning is Never Ending

Does anyone else feel like they are constantly cleaning?? That's all I do other than work and go to the gym! At least that's all I feel like I do. I think I vacuum/swiffer the hardwood floors every day almost due to the dogs dragging in dirt and such from the outside and destroying their toys all over the place...[:D] And when I was young I always wondered why my mom cleaned all the time...

haha I agree I hate cleaning as well which makes matters worse. Been having fights with bf over who does what. But we have made a "deal" that is working great, so at least I don't feel like I am cleaning 24/7 just half of the week

Yes, I clean a lot/often for someone who's only 22, lives in somewhat dumpy housing, and is still part of that college/post-college demographic.  My friends call it Dutch Lightning (sitting around waiting for a mess to clean up), but I call it cleaning-a-little-each-day-rather-than-a-LOT-after-a-long-while.  Also, I can't really settle in and relax when I have chores hanging over my head.  I prefer to come home from work, do the cleaning, walk the dog, and THEN relax so I can do what I want until bed.  DH is terrible at cleaning and is no help.  I take care of dishes and basic straightening up of the entire house each day, and do vacuuming, mopping, organizing, sweeping, etc on the weekends or during the week if someone is coming to visit.  I usually do 1/2 hr to an hr of chores each day and more like 3-5 hrs of chores on Sat or Sun.

I am constantly cleaning my house.  If it's not Maddy making the mess, it's the dogs, and if it's not them...  You guessed it it's Dh!  He is like another child.  He can make a mess faster than I can get one cleaned!  I am freaking out now, my FIL is coming in this Thursday from Ohio.  This will be the first time that he has been to NC in 11 years.  I want the house to look good but how is that possible with the dogs and youngin?

I feel like clean all the time too.  Today I doing lots of cleaning as my mum is coming to spend the day with us tomorrow...she wouldnt be funny about it if it was messy, but I would be embarrassed cos her house ALWAYS looked lovely, even when she had tiny kids running about... mind you I remember her being totally shattered and run down A LOT of the time.

You guys make me feel like a slob! I clean my house once a week- vacuum, mop, clean bathroom etc. And I only have one dog, and no kids [&:].
Though of course, it probably doesn't help that my organisational system largely consists of "anything that I might need in the near future, or relatively often, stays out and in sight". When I put things away, I lose them. I'm a bit of a lost cause, I think.

Thank goodness my darling SO likes cleaning for me.

Don't worry Vinia, you are not alone!

I "should" clean more often. I am so tired at the end of the day I run out of steam. My intention is to clean on the weekends, but fun stuff is more appealing.

My house is a NIGHTMARE. I need to clean it before we go up north, but I am not sure it will get done. I prefer to keep after it, but then one day I am too tired, or something more appealing comes, and I put it off, next thing I know it is out of control and needs to be overhauled. I wish "I" could change.

We keep the dishes taken care of, laundry, but we do not vacum as we should, we have 3 dogs, but they are far more fun to play with. Maybe tomorrow, there is always tomorrow.

You are not alone! I clean everyday, 3 cats, 1 dog and a rabbit, oh wait I forgot the DH as well.

I can say this though, while I do some minor cleaning during the week, I do the heavy cleaning on Friday, I alternate rooms (I have 4) each week for a total take down, clean the walls, the ceiling fans, woodwork, windows and whatever. This leaves me to do whatever I want on the weekends. My husband does the laundry and the yard work.

That's all I do besides my work and paying bills, bringing food in the house, laundry and take care of the dogs. What I really started hating is "Cooking".....

Waking up in the morning is like....oh look it's another day but the same day as yesterday[8|]

Well my fiance does the yardwork and the kitchen, but I still feel like he gets to relax after work way more than I do. I think I sit down for about 5 mins each evening, in between caring for the dogs, playing with them, walking them and cleaning up the house....so I kind of resent him at times, especially when I had a rough day at work and all I want to do is sit down, that's usually when I get really really moody.

I get this too. [&o]  I tidy up every day by trying to put stuff away instead of setting it down "till later".  We vacuum once a week and mow when needed.  I do the dishes most of the time and I get hell for asking BF to do something he doesn't want to do.

Aggg, yes. I spend more time dusting books and picture frames...

lol I'm glad I'm not the only person collecting dust bunnies. Maxs Mom- don't worry about not cleaning as often as you should- I completely agree that there is always far more important (and fun) things to do.

To be honest, I quite like having the house rather messy when I do decide to clean, because then it looks (relatively) SO much better! [:D]

i was about to post a thread on this, but I just knew there would be a topic on it. so here it is. ok i'm not the only one who feels as though they're constantly at war with the dirt & dog/kitty hair!! lol.

I get 'some' help from my BF, its better than none at all. but I dont think I'll ever get him to do the dirty jobs like cleaning the toilet.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips.

i have the hardest time trying to 'train' everyone to take their shoes off. especially my BF cuz he always wears dr.martens that lace up, so it's like a 5 min ordeal for him to put on or take off his shoes.lol.

I think that would keep some dirt outta my house.  My house is old though,  I feel like it'll only get 'so' clean.  It was built in 1935! ( old to me lol)
