I met my husband my freshman year of college. We were required to live in the dorms for 2 years. He was a junior, but he got an RA position and was RA for a boy's floor of my same dorm. Also, his current gf lived across the hall from me. They had been going out for 3 years, but were in the process of breaking up when I started college. My suitemates were friends/girlfriends of DH's suitemates, so he became a mutual friend. After he was finally rid of his ex, we just started going out. We were both in the same level of psychology with the same prof, and she didn't care which class period you attended, so he stopped going to the one that his ex was in and switched to mine instead. This was actually bad b/c he never paid attention and talked to me all the time during class. We were just always together since we lived in the same building and had mutual friends. The funny thing is, I was NOT looking for a relationship at ALL and I was honestly happy to be his "rebound girl" b/c I didn't want all the seriousness and commitment. I tell people it's not that there was a single moment where we decided to be bf/gf and have a more committed relationship, we just started as new friends and....never broke up!! I
refused to even consider getting married while in school so we went out for almost 4 years.
