How did you meet your Husband/SO?

I love hearing stories about how people met I just had a cute little 80 year old couple in here and makes me wonder how they got their start...

So my boy friend/man of my dreams( i know corny) and I have been together two years this month and his cousin is my best friend for the past 7 years. She said you want to go go cart racing with my family, i'm thinking her mom dad brother. She said no my cousin. Well the only cousin I knew was her 13yr old girl cousin. I said sure, havent seen her in a while. She was like OH you have never met him.I couldnt believe after all the family things I had gone to with her I had never met him turns out he had been out of the Marine corp for a while and finally decided to "join" the family again... We met at a go-cart racing place went out to a Hooka bar and havent spent a weekend without eachother in two years[sm=floating.gif]

I was a waitress just finishing up my last year in college and he was a divorced dad that had custody of the kids every other weekend. He and the kids would come in on Friday nights after he would pick them up from their mom#%92s house.

The kids were FANTASTIC.. the most well behaved and polite little things and he was the kindest customer with a sweet smile and always a kind word (didn#%92t hurt that he wasn#%92t too hard on the eyes either).  I was 6 weeks from my 22nd birthday and he was 30.  It was a pretty big age difference (especially with me only being 21) but it never felt that way to us and still doesn#%92t 12 years later.

I met my husband my freshman year of college.  We were required to live in the dorms for 2 years.  He was a junior, but he got an RA position and was RA for a boy's floor of my same dorm.  Also, his current gf lived across the hall from me.  They had been going out for 3 years, but were in the process of breaking up when I started college.  My suitemates were friends/girlfriends of DH's suitemates, so he became a mutual friend.  After he was finally rid of his ex, we just started going out.  We were both in the same level of psychology with the same prof, and she didn't care which class period you attended, so he stopped going to the one that his ex was in and switched to mine instead.  This was actually bad b/c he never paid attention and talked to me all the time during class.  We were just always together since we lived in the same building and had mutual friends.  The funny thing is, I was NOT looking for a relationship at ALL and I was honestly happy to be his "rebound girl" b/c I didn't want all the seriousness and commitment.  I tell people it's not that there was a single moment where we decided to be bf/gf and have a more committed relationship, we just started as new friends and....never broke up!!  I refused to even consider getting married while in school so we went out for almost 4 years.

I went out to play pool with my best friend who was also a co-worker on a Friday night after we got off from the music store.  He and his friend were at the bar and she picked up on his friend.  They were both really drunk and about to leave but she convincd them to come play a game with us.  I was not interested in this drunk fool at all.  My friend and his friend were having a great time and making out in front of us and DH was cheating at pool behind their backs and totally made me laugh.  We went on a date with each other about a week later and have been together for almost 9 years now.  It took us almost 6 to get married.  I was only 20 when I met him and had a lot of growing up to do and wanted to fiinish college and pass the CPA exam.

I met my husband on Match.com.  I had been divorced for about 2 years and all the men in my life were guys I worked with.  Me and a couple of the guys from work decided to try Match.com.  I had went on a couple of bad dates, I was stood up once and was gonna take a break from Match when he emailed me.  He had no picture of himself nor did I want to see one.  We emailed eachother for weeks before we met.  He was so funny and we totally clicked thru email.  I was a little afraid that when I did finally meet him...I would not find him attractive.  The day before we met he asked again if I wanted him to send me a picture and I said no.  I called his cell from the parking lot of the meeting place and asked what he was wearing or what he looked like.
He said " you can't miss me...I'm the guy in a white shirt sitting at the bar with a big hump in my back".  We had a grand time and never looked back.  Ironically, we both suspended out Match.com subscriptions the next day.  We just knew we were perfect for eachother.

I met Matt when I was 16.  I was working my first job as a busser at my uncle's pizza parlor.  Matt was a cook.  I had noticed him, but I'm shy so I've never been one to initiate conversation.  Well, it wasn't long before I noticed that he "just happened" to take his break whenever I got done with my shift and was in the breakroom eating dinner.  We became pretty good friends at work and then started going out to movies and such.  It was kind of funny because we didn't really know when we officially started dating.  One day he just asked me, "what are we?" and I said I didn't know.  The next day he asked me out officially.  lol  Although it took awhile because he was so nervous.  Everytime I reached for the door handle to get out of the car when he dropped me off at home, he'd start talking.  I heard all kinds of weird facts that night, even about his russian class he took 3 years ago (at the time.)  I knew what he was doing, but I decided to let him suffer lol [;)]  We've been together for nearly 5 years now and are getting married Oct. 11, 2008.

I met Brett when I was 18 and he was 22. He was working a second job as a bouncer at a club that I had gone to. We met there, and we've been together for the past 7 years (married for 4 this coming December). Five more weeks to go until our first child is born.

You guys ever read those old romance novels where the couple meet at a party, can't stand each other, but keep running into one another?  Well, our story is something like that.  Hubby & I met at a sweet sixteen party.  I was 4 months away from my 16th birthday, he was 21.  We couldn't stand each other- I was the stuck up b*tch, he was the pervert (long story).  A bunch of us were supposed to stay overnight, but the birthday girl's step father got drunk and threw everyone out.  Hubby loaded everyone that was supposed to stay overnight into his truck and drove us all home.  We ran into each other a few times over the next few months (I lived in upstate NY.  He lived in NJ, but came to NY a lot to visit friends).  We eventually started dating, and a couple of years late got married.  We'll be celebrating our 26th anniversary next month.

I'm such a hopeless romantic I love a good Love story lol [:D]

Me and my DH met at one of my friends house parties. I actually didn't want to go that night because I had my fill of drinking and fun the night before, but my best friend in the end convinced me to go. When we got there we met up with some friends and began chatting and this guy approached us. Green eyes, dark brown hair, wearing Rave clothes, 6'2 and was very happy person. Well it was weird and I was a little annoyed because he just sort of stood there beside us, laughed then walked away. I was like wtf? lol. Anyway as the night went on my Best friend ditched me for this guy she met. So I wandered and saw him standing by the counter and we started to talk. We talked about politics, food the works. It was about 5am and we were still socializing when his friends told him he was late for work and should go. He *still* hadn't asked me for my number, but looked nervous so I just gave it to him. He looked happy and shocked at the same time then left. Well after waiting about 2 days and no phone call from him I figured "here we go again". But the next day we called and went for coffee. Our third date sealed the deal for us both. We went to his house to watch movies and he grabbed a blanket and we headed to the couch to watch a movie. His roommates showed up and kinda wrecked it, and the roommates gf head was right in the way and I couldn't see the movie. So I went to move a little closer and he nonchalantly put his arm around me and pulled me close(he was super shy, and claims now that he planned that LOL). After they left we had a fairytale kiss. It was perfect! Here we are almost 4 years later and we are married and have a 15 month old boy! [:D]

The first time I met my wife was in 1988..She was working a corner in NYC  and I paid for the hour...I was a bit upset with her because I wanted a refund for the 45 minutes I didn't use up.

We met up a few years later, oddly enough at a local clinic. We were both getting prescriptions for a common std.

She was in the market for a new manager and I fit the bill..We decided to get married..
