Inquiring minds want to know???

    Let's see:

I live in a mobile home, single wide, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

I'm on a payment plan thing with the propane company, I pay $101 a month, no matter what.  That means that during the winter I am in debt to the company, and during the summer I have extra money built up.  The water heater and furnace and stove/oven are propane.

Electric in the winter is about $20, we don't have central air, all we have is a window shaker in the bedroom, and we only use that at night on really hot nights.  During the summer the electric bill goes up to about $50.

Water and sewer is about $10 a month, no matter what.

Well now Shell...we're just pointing out that things even out...lol! The fact that one pays more/less for this or that utility is interesting...but even more so, when you see what else they might have/not have and still pay that bill...teehee

I would MUCH rather pay your electric bill....than a southern cali mortgage.. and in that case there is now way it is "even".. it is WAY unfair, although I haven't had two months of rain now have I?? hmmmm...[8|]

Bearing in mind I try to keep my electric use to a minimum (for green reasons as well as saving the dough) mine is about $100 I'm on Oahu in Hawaii [:)]

    Interesting thread, Shel!

Sera, do you live in a house or what?  My dad pays a lot more than that for his house in Maui every month... so that seems kinda low to me. [8|]

I'm in a townhouse kinda small at 1200 sq. ft (large by Hawaii's standards). And I know Maui is much more expensive than we are in many ways.

.. I rarely run A/C and i have the power saver EVERYTHING and anything I can have it on.  When I run AC the cost spikes obviously and quickly.  And generally it's not that hot when you open up the windows. If it is, screw the planet, I want my AC [:D]  just kidding! [8D]

lol..my dad just bought a new AC for his living room just to cool that living area and it is super energy efficent and kicks BUTT!!  something to consider perhaps for the future for you![:)

Ranch style with an upstairs, around 2000 sqft. Two different AC and heating units (one for down, one for up).

    Averages : electricity - 65 and gas - 70 for a total average of 135.

Peak for winter gas 175 (we do not heat the upstairs with the main unit often) and for summer electricity 235 (got to cool the bedrooms as well as the downstairs). We really try not to overcool or overheat (bringing it  around 75 in summer and around 70 in winter) but we have an old installation and I bet some of the good stuff gets lost in the duct system.

Well I can't brag about a $700 mortgage payment, but for our 1900 sf house, we spend about $80-$100 in the winter and about $120-$160 in the summer.

Wow, I feel like I'm getting ripped off, my gas bill in the winter is about $450. a month and my electric is about $150.
In the summer my electric is about $300. and my gas $75.00

no idea. my wife pays the bills! [:D]

if it makes you feel any better our mortgage payments are around $1000 per month for a 1700 s.f. house.
