Lose vs. Loose

But I do believe then that you're wandering about, wondering.

    Good call!

I tend to use a lot of commas as well, and I also use ... a really lot. In fact, sometimes I'll write an e-mail and the only puncuation in the whole darn thing is ...

Of course, I'm a bit comma happy.  Ever since some blasted teacher said "Think of a comma like you're taking a breath!  Commas are the breath of speech!" I insert a comma every freakin' place where I'd be taking a breath in real life!  I can't help it!  That damn teacher didn't TEACH me anything!  He just ruined me for commas!!

I also use ... a lot to indicate halts in my thought processes, or when I'm using innuendo or flirting in RP, i.e. "I'm pleased that one finds me so....intriguing." *insert wink here*

Oh my!  I had a teacher tell me nearly the same thing about comma's.  Man have I paid for that once I hit college and I was told I was too comma happy for my own good!  I also use...far too much.  But, I like the effect it has.

I'm not sure how these can get so sooooo screwed up, but they do:

    know, no, now

    where, were, we're

Those words misused especially drive me nuts. I was talking to some idiot online once, and he actually typed "I no were your comming from." [&o]

Occasionally everyone makes mistakes, but consistent mistakes drive me batty.

chelsea_b, that's horrible!  Mistakes like that would make me slap my forehead and groan, and I'm not much of a grammer nut or spelling fanatic.

Let's not forget "weary" vs. "wary".

Weary is a synonym for TIRED, i.e. "He was weary after a long day's work."

Wary is to be careful about something that might be an issue, i.e. "He was wary of the horse's hind legs kicking madly."

I'm certainly not perfect, but the one that bugs me is advise for advice.
