How'd you get to TX, when you started off in your dream home locale?

following the almighty dollar, i'm afraid...............................[>:], and it's really only been since i've lived in other parts of the country that i've realized where i really want to live...

    MY dream house is here:

It would be nice for it to be that house.

But SO drew plans for his dream house when he was in 4th grade. They're based on the house his family owned when they lived in Colombia. It was beautiful. Hopefully, we'll move out to some country area in west Georgia and build it.

I think that I would like to keep the house & acerage that I have right now.  I would like to move the entire place to a different location though. (I live in the boonies!)  I'm thinking that Miami is so much fun year round, that may be the perfect location for me!

My dream house would have a five acre fenced in yard for Zeus...with lots of trees and such.  Most likely me and the SO would just live on riding lawn mowers all of the time.

It would also be way back in the boonies...and we would be hippies and live off of the land.  So building on that concept, I would want it to be large, wide open rooms, and a bit primitive looking.

I guess my dream would be a beach house overlooking the pacific ocean.  Maybe Del Mar, La Jolla, Santa Monica, Malibu, Palos Verdes.  I want huge bay windows too.

Kelly, I grew up in your dream house - two blocks up the hill from the ocean in Ocean Beach in San Diego and all the bay windows looked out over the water.  I didn't appreciate it then, but I sure would love to have it back now.

My dream house is the type that you usually see in Florida and California (and coincidentally CA is where I want to live). Spanish architecture with the terracotta tile roof, surrounded by palmtrees... [:)] I want a gym, a home theater, an indoor pool, and a sunroom overlooking a beautiful view. The bathroom would have a raised spa tub and also a marble shower with 2 shower heads and a marble bench. I guess it would be a fairly large place, but ONLY 1 story. I can't stand stairs or two story houses. I want a Chinese "Zen" garden and a Koi pond. There would also be a heated, outdoor, lagoon style pool. Almost forgot to mention that there needs to be a courtyard in the front. Also some fountains and the grounds would be landscaped with tropical plants, including my favorite- hibiscus flowers. [:D]

That's okay we've moved to Florida and back twice now as a married couple (from MA)...and we both lived in Florida before we got together as single people...to finally see that New England (NH) is the best place for us.

I don't mind a certain amount of cold weather but I like sunshine. Northern AZ, is the place for me. I'd like 40 acres fenced that backs up to BLM land. Some places actually have abundant groundwater so a nice solar heated pool is a must. The house itself could be either ranch style or craftsman, with a smaller fenced area where the dogs don't need supervision.

oooh snownose, that looks liek something i would want!!!
I would either like to live in a cabin, or just a brick house. I like cape cod style, or anything with a lot of windows. I don't want a huge house...but i do want a large kitchen. I want all hardwood floors. Really, i'm more concerned about the land...i want at least 40 acres, so that i can ride. A pond would be nice as well...
It's nothing extravagant...just what i will be looking for the moment i graduate!

I've built once, and currently live in it - in the woods in rural PA. I consider that a dress rehersal. My fantasy place

I would build a wood house with a wrap around porch on stilts in a marsh. It would have a composting toilet (clivus multrum composting toilet and gray water recycling system), a well, a rainwater cistern, a tin roof and a floating pier under the house for when the water rises.

I love marsh - it's my favorite ecosystem. The biodiversity of a marsh is HUGE. Anyone ever been to Lilypons water plant nursery in Frederick, Maryland? It's amazing. The bird watching alone is to die for.

    Well you asked!
