When you come walking into work 10 days after your due date you are ready to mutilate the first person who says "haven't you had that kid yet?" When the doctor strips membranes, they put a finger (or two if you have started to dialate) and kind of stretch the sides out a bit. Its alot of pressure and very uncomfy, but it doesn't hurt.
