Hre is the updated tax table from the IRS website.....I still don't see that people who make more money pay less, according to this tax table, they actually pay more.

$7.8 billion.... i realize that he has become all philanthropic of late and started donating money to various charieties,

Bradley, don't forget that he can now deduct all this charitable giving, too. [8|]

i used to give a good portion of my tax refund to charity when i was single. now that i end up having to pay, i cant afford to give as much as before.

There is more of a chance that your money paid for an hours worth of secret service protection for one of Our Royalty.

Or even a day's fill up of all of the brand new black SUV's they use to transport Our Royalty.

Oh, and I probably bought some new clothes and maybe a nice night out for daughter of a friend who is getting welfare checks by telling the goverment that she is single and living alone with her two children (she is actually supporting her two children, their dead beat LAZY father who REFUSES to work, her love of shopping and both of their 1 pack a day smoking habits).  Oh yeah, I forgot, those checks are also helping to support her HORSE, yes, that's right-a horse.  A horse that she BOUGHT while she was on welfare, so it's not like she just suddenly fell on hard times.

I guess some of that money is probably going to that woman I used to work with who was getting paid under the table and using the extra cash from her welfare checks to remodel her house--you know, knocking out walls to make rooms larger, adding hardwood floors--oh, and I can't forget the RIDING LESSONS she was buying for her kid, at least 2 a week.

I would much rather have my money go to protect people who have actually WORKED for the position they have in life, rather than those who think they should just have things handed to them because they have made poor and selfish life choices (I know the first girl in question quite well, and she DELIBERATELY got pregnant both times because others in her family were pregnant and she thought it would be fun to have babies, KNOWING that she could not afford it and would have to get assistance).  Sorry, but this lack of personal responsibility makes me want to puke.  Repeatedly.

I am sure that goes on, but we have our own business, and all checks to our business are written in our incorporated business name, no way to hide those funds....trust me.

maybe it isnt fair that the distribution of wealth in this country is so one sided. [;)]

Maybe a country with a socialist form of government would be more to your liking.  As for me, I think I will stay right here, content in the knowledge that life itself isn't fair.  If life was fair, I would be taller.  [:)]

    i am being unduly taxed.

    Now on that we agree.

now if bill gates wants to give me $1 million each year

Take from the rich and give to the poor.  I trust you vote for democrats  [;)]

i am supposed to feel sorry for him or that he is being treated unfairly? surely you jest!

Where in the world did I, or anyone else, suggest that you should feel sorry for Bill Gates?

as of july 2006 there is an estimated 298,444,215 people living in the US. so roughly 15,000,000 people are in the top 5% of the population.so 15,000,000 people earn so much more than the average joe

You're assuming that all 15 million of those people produce incomes, Brad.  Talk about your flawed logic.

that is after they have taken advantage of every underhanded, shady, barely legal tax credit known to the wealthiest tax lawyers.

Don't you take advantage of every deduction you can Brad?  Is it only unfair when the wealthy do it?

edit: i guess if i could come up with a product as unfailing and unfrustrating as windows i could potentially be making 7.8 billion as well. [&:]

There is a possibility that would be more productive than coming here whining about how much of your income goes to taxes or that Bill Gates doesn't just give you a million dollars a year.  You see, Gates is a lot smarter and luckier than we are, Bradley.

No, I am not not, but you must explain to me how a corporation hides money if the checks are written in an incorporated business name..........

It's a straw man, Karyn.  Let it go.

Now let me get Bradley really fired up by suggesting that corporations shouldn't pay taxes AT ALL.  Let me go on to say that corporations really don't pay taxes, AT ALL.

And madam moderator, would it be a violation of the rules if I were to tell Shelly to kiss my a$$?  [:)]

i usually vote for the best person for the job regardless of political affiliation. however, most times i am stuck trying to decide who is the least offensive (political affiliation not in question here either).

You're assuming that all 15 million of those people produce incomes, Brad.  Talk about your flawed logic.

i guess when we are talkiing about the wealthiest portion of the population, "earned" when talking about money is kind of a misnomer.

Don't you take advantage of every deduction you can Brad?  Is it only unfair when the wealthy do it?

i do. just trying to level the playing field though. normally i dont have enough deductions to even worry about itemizing. this year, we have our mortgage but not really anything else.

You see, Gates is a lot smarter and luckier than we are, Bradley.

i'll give you the luckier part, but smarter? speak for yourself! [:D]

i never said corporations. i was talking about individuals. you must reread my posts! [:D]

Tja, I probably should, but he must understand that a corporation gets a federal tax id, and all funds paid to that corporation are reported to the IRS as being paid to said corporation under that tax id #.........so how does one funnel funds?

I am sure certain corporations cheat here and there on their reports, but if caught ......oh boy....just like the average tax payer........don't tell me some ;people don't cheat on their tax returns.......[8|]

What#%92s wrong Billy?… did a short old cocky halfwit get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning? [:)]

I am just getting back for all the "obese" comments you have posted about me in the past week. If you can dish them out, then certainly you can take them as well.... [;)]
    • Gold Top Dog
Ok, Bradley......even owners of corporations are set up with a salary, and that said salary is paid out of the corporation, so, these paid funds have to be reported, otherwise the liability is turned over to the shareholders.

The IRS will get their money somehow.........
