• fuzzy_dogs_mom Posted : 4/3/2007 3:28:37 PM Thanks so much guys for all the thoughts, prayers and good wishes.  It  really means a lot and we can sure use them.  I'll  try to give you a brief run down so I don't ramble on for 10 pages and cause everyones eyes to glaze over. DH developed a pain in his leg about 4 months ago.  He finally decided to see a Dr. after two hypo-glycemic episodes resulting in his  blood sugar bottoming out and us having to call 911.  His doctor suspected Pagets disease (a bone condition) & sent him to a specialist who pretty much confirmed that and put him on Actonel - which doesn't seem to be helping much.  His appetite decreased sharply and a cat scan was ordered.  The cat scan showed a lot of spots on his lungs which his Dr. thought were cancer.  She sent him to a pulmonary specialist who did a PET scan (they inject something into a vein and if there's infection, malignancy or any other bad stuff, it lights up on the scan) and after seeing the PET it was decided that a needle biopsy was in order.  We're waiting for them to schedule that. But ... since he pretty much stopped eating and drinking, he had to go in for IV fluids on Friday and Saturday and Sunday night we admitted him to Kaiser Hospital. So that's where we are now.  Waiting.  But at least they're getting fluids into him which is a good thing and hopefully they'll get the biopsy scheduled while he's hospitalized instead of sending him home and re-admitting him later.  Thanks again for all the prayers and candles.
