Yeah...Bowie's cheesy when he wants to be...esp in his Goblin king costume! But that was a wonderful role and soundtrack all the same!

I don't have the soundtrack, but I believe you!
He scared the crap out of me when I was little.
I couldn't watch Labyrinth for ANYTHING because he scared me so bad.

    Now I LOVE him.

The only thing that worried me in that costume was the package jiggling around while he was dancing LMAO.
Looked like he was smuggling grapes down to the Goblin Kingdom!

    D'OH! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anything by Judas Priest, even though they started in the 70's, "Another thing coming" was their break-out hit in 1982. Favorite Talking Heads song, "Psycho Killer." Guns & Roses "Appetite for Destruction" the entire album. For a while, I thought they would be the next Led Zeppelin. Van Halen before Sammy Hagar. I like Sammy on his own. David Lee Roth on his own. Ronnie James Dio. Everything he does becomes opera, which one could expect from a traditional Bel Canto singer. The Scorpions.

Yep, I liked Van Halen, but yuck on the Scorpions....could never get over that accent, I was always able to hear it, and it kind of took away from the music.

I keep coming back to this post thinking I can “jar” a memory or two of an 80#%92s song I like but the more I read this thread the more I am convinced that I HATE 99% of the songs from the 80#%92s. I SWEAR I SHOULD BE 10 YEARS OLDER AN RAISED DURING THE 70#%92s!  I LOVE the majority of stuff from the 70#%92s…but hate the 80#%92s. I know that makes me in the minority and weird but I gotta admit it!

I DID come up with a couple though…

    Queen#%92s- I want to break free (1984)

And several songs by the group Yaz (also known as Yazoo). They had a great album called “upstairs at Erics”.

A-HA-take on me, best video also

That's one of my favorites too.  But I could go with almost anything by the cure, early metallica (anything before Bob Rock) Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Judas Priest and about a million others too.

As for U2, their best work IMO was on the War album- Bad in particular is an amazing song and Sunday Bloody Sunday.

It's like they couldn't afford a better translator. But it did give the songs flavor.

"I want to belong for you ..." instead of "I want to belong to you ..."

    80's music is great. [:D]
The 60's and 70's were a little weird, and the 90's started getting whiny, but 80's music was just right.

I loved the 80's!!!! Good times, good music.

I love the extended version of Tainted Love you know the one over 10 minutes.

I was wondering if any one here ever heard the song "Only You" by The Flying Pickets? I was done all acappella and recorded in a bathroom for acoustics it is so awesome. Other bands have covered the song but the Picket version in my opinion was the best. I wish I could find it again. My record (yes vinyl) warped, and the tape I recorded it on to has been played so much it is getting garbled.

Sirius has a new channel "Lithium (24)" that's all 90's alternative/grunge....VERY cool. I've re-discovered there was a lot about the 90's that I liked and just forgot about. Rage, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Live, Collective Soul, POTUSA, Rollins, REM, etc etc etc....

Yep, that's right down my alley.......who said the 90's were whiny?
Soundgarden would have to go down as my all time fav. band, right behind....Alice inChains......and so on.
