My turn to ask for prayers for my Mom

My turn to ask for prayers for my Mom

Mother, who is 82, has been having a problem for the past several months with getting really short of breath.  She went to see her cardiologist early and had a number of tests done.....then went yesterday to have the cardiac catherization done.  The good news is that her arteries in the heart all clean as a whistle...she had a quadruple bypass 15 years ago.  The not so great news is that she has a blocked artery in a kidney.  The worse news is that when they tried to do angioplasty on it, her blood pressure shot sky high and they didn't proceed, but rather put her right in the hospital to get the BP under control  As of 11 this morning, the BP hadn't come back down so they put her on a different medication and the doc will be back "later" to see how it's doing.

The up and down of her BP is likely due to the kidney artery, as in the trouble with getting short of breath.  So clearly this thing needs a rooter router taken to it soon.....she was supposed to be coming home today, but gosh, not sure if that's gonna happen now, and it shouldn't until the BP is under control.......

So prayers needed that the new meds drop that BP and keep it stable!

When I go to Church tonight I will light a candle for her.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mom, Glenda.

OK, the bp came down, now they want to see if it will STAY down.

She scared the holy crap out of me...I was talking to her and all of a sudden she wasn't there.  Hung up, called back and got the nurses station and asked the nurse to get in their NOW.  Danged if she hadn't just fallen ASLEEP!!  LOL!!

Oh Glenda, how nerve wreaking, You have prayers coming from Jersey. Are they going to try the angioplasty again, or can they maybe try heavy duty blood thinners for now?

Sending good thoughts your way.  I hope they can do the surgery soon and get her well again.  How dare she scare you that way, LOL!

Sis doesn't want me to come down cuz she doesn't want to scare Mom...so I'm sitting here getting second hand info.  Sis says they'll do it mid-late May and I'm guessing that they'll try to get the BP  leveled out in the meantime.

I'm GOING tommorow, no matter what Sis says.

Prayers here too.  I would go tomorrow if that is what you need to do.  Life is so uncertain and if she is unstable then you should go with your gut and go!  Mom's always love visits from their daughters anyway!

We actually do need to sign our lease on the new house and DS wants to SEE the house, so we have a good excuse to go and being THAT close, would just normally stop by anyhow, so that shouldn't frighten her if we back sure she knows that we had to be in the area anyhow......

The nurse went TEARING into her room when I called, and came back to the phone laughing!  Man, that really did scare me....I was listening for monitors and alarms, but of course I don't know what they have on her.......

Well heck!  You have a great reason to go...maybe you can talk DH into heading there tonight!  I know you must be worried sick!  When my mom was in the hospital recently from surgery, she had some monitor that would go off anytime she wasn't taking deep enough breaths.  It was no big deal, but I was as alarmed as could be everytime it went off!

DH actually works in her town and is going to stop by and see her today.  If I were to go down tonite, that really would frighten her....tommorow I have an excellent excuse to go.  Just talked to my sister and she was leaving the hospital for a bit since Mom couldn't stay awake.  She'll go back in a bit.
