    American Idol Spolier--tonite's Queen songs

Look who's going to be singing Bohemian Rhapsody (Oh noooooooooo!). Ugh! And I'm really sorry to see what Taylor's going to be singing b/c I hated the way David already sang it on AI before he got the boot. I'm very nervous about seeing it sung again! [8|] And I cannot picture this person singing Fat Bottom Girls!

    Finalists hail to the Queen

    By Bill Keveney, USA TODAY
Here are the Queen songs the Idol finalists will be singing — and
    their comments.

•Ace Young, We Will Rock You: "I urbanized the verses a little, just
by riding on (the notes). I put a little R&B soul on it. When we
were done, they said, 'That sounds like a record.' "

•Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls: "Yes, we all love the fat-
    bottomed girls."

•Chris Daughtry, Innuendo: "It's a relatively unknown song. It just
had a mixture of a dark feel and a positive message. And I just
found out they've never performed this live."

•Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love: "I was drawn to the passionate
emotion of the song. I heard a lot of soul in it."

•Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever: "How could (this) not
be fun? We're working with so many different legends."

•Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody: "We only have 1 minute and 30
seconds, and the song is really long. Having to cut so many pieces
is really hard to memorize, because I'm not singing the song as it's
    originally played."

•Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On: "Being with the band was a big
experience to me, never being with a rock band before. I was able to
pick a song that fits me, that's still rocky."

•Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love: "You listen to a
Queen song, it's really melodic and very powerful, and the dynamics
    (are) really cool."

•Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love: "I was drawn to the passionate
emotion of the song. I heard a lot of soul in it."

seconds, and the song is really long. Having to cut so many pieces
is really hard to memorize, because I'm not singing the song as it's
    originally played."

These three are out..... Especially Kellie and her song. Oh I dread listening to her in her southern accent bashing such a great song... Oh my ears...................... In advance.... lmao

Taylor should have had that one. He would make it as great as always. GO TAYLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:D]

I don't know...Elliott and Katherine might be ok. I'm hoping this week is Bucky's last stand. Kellie once again shows her age....Bohemian Rhapsody hard to memorize? Everyone I know has had it memorized since the 70's!! [sm=lol.gif]

I guess that's ME showing MY age too! [sm=blush.gif] [sm=wink.gif]

I'm affraid Bucky will do just fine with the song selection as it can be a little on the country side or at least made into. I don't have a problem with Bucky. It is Elliot and Kellie that need to GO!

    • Gold Top Dog
I guess predictions before they even sing may be premature, but it seems likely that Kellie would get herself into the bottom 3 with her song choice. She says she's not singing it as it was recorded so it will be interesting!
    • Gold Top Dog
That should be interesting... lol... I will still have the ear plugs handy... [:D]

Premature or not, she still needs to Go!!! I'm sick of her airheaded blondie attitude... Everyone thinks she's so cute... [:'(]

I guess you could say she has struck a nerve with me. Huh?

I cannot wait for the AI tonight. It is going to be very, very interesting for sure...

    • Gold Top Dog
Kellie is odd to look at...her face has looked botoxed for about 5 weeks.  Then, I think someone told her that she never showed any expression with her eyebrows, because last week, she was going crazy moving her eyebrows around.  She looked like a nut.
    • Gold Top Dog
That's what I'm talking about....lol... Thanks for the validation Mic.

    How are you feeling?
    • Gold Top Dog
I am feeling good.  I am tired off putting eye drops in, but what ya gonna do.

Hey one good thing came out of the deal.  My wifes going to let me get another dog.  Yeah.
    • Gold Top Dog
That is good to hear. Eyeballs take time to heal is all.

Are you going for a pup or an adult? And what kind???

    • Gold Top Dog
Hmmm...I hope tonight doesn't suck. lol  I get the feeling I'm going to cringe a lot when some of these folks murder the songs. I hope Taylor does a good job. I'm rooting for him.

Started a thread in Anything & Everything - called Opinions on Saints.

Ack! Stupid, stupid Marlania. I had the tv set for it to come on, but I was editing my thesis and missed it. I thought it started at 8, even though I set the tv for 7. How was it?

My personal feelings on tonight's show:
Ace: He was the absolute worst! He has GOT to go. The judges didn't like him either.
Bucky: He was ok but I don't like him that much. Sounds like his voice is always straining. The judges said he was ok/good.
Paris: I didn't like her but the judges did (well, Simon said he thought her performance was weird but the other 2 gave her thumbs up).
Chris: I didn't like him AT ALL but the judges did (Simon said he was good, but could've been great had he picked a better song).
Kelly: She did better than I expected. It was ok. Judges said pretty much the same.
Katherine: She was ok but didn't wow me. Nothing special. The judges liked her.
Elliott: I didn't like him but the judges did.
Taylor: I enjoyed it and thought his voice was great! Paula and Randy liked it but Simon said he was ridiculous. He got the biggest, loudest and longest applause of anyone, I thought.

The show's most embarrassing moment to watch: When they showed Ace with Queen, trying to explain how he wanted them to play their song for him and Brian May said, "No way. I'm not playing it like that. I can't do that to my song." Then another time Ace was telling them how he wanted the music to sound and Brian May shook his head and said, "Uh, we won't be playing your arrangement." [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] Ouch. I thought it was interesting that the show decided to show those particular moments in Ace's interaction with Queen. I predict he's in the bottom 3 and may just be the one going home.

Taylor has always been on of my favorites, and he did a good job, but I wish he would have chosen a different song.

Kellie is a bit annoying, but she's got a good voice.  I don't expect her to win, though because her singing style is too much like last years winner-Carrie Underwood.

Ace has to go, I haven't liked him from the get go.

I think Elliot has a great voice, and he seems to be the most sincere and grateful person there.

Chris has an awesome voice, but, like Kellie, doesn't have much of a style range.

Paris is ok, but I think she should have been gone last week.
