American Idol

I've loved Mandisa from the very beginning. I think her or Chris will win it. My husband is rooting for Chris. Kelly and Taylor have got the cutest personalities out of anyone on the show. Whenever Kelly talks I just can't get over how cute and naive she is!! Especially the "Minx/mink" comment...hahahaha

All Chris did was sing Live's version of the song. There was nothing original about what he did. At least last week they mentioned that he was doing the Chili Pepper's version of Higher Ground.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of hearing about how he's "making songs his own" and being "creative" etc. The other bands are the ones who are being creative...they already changed the cover versions of the songs and made them THEIR own...and he is just singing their song instead of the original. I don't get why people are just glossing over that.

Well, at least Paula cut back on saying, "You're different. You're unique." I was starting to think those were the only sentences should could say without tripping over the words.

I guess they keep her there because they want someone to encourage people. She should learn some new words, though.

Well, I'm still watching it since it just aired here about 1/2 hr ago.  So far I only like Taylor's performance.  I haven't been impressed so far.  Mandisa just finished and I dont' think it was all that great.
 
I do love Kellie's personality though.  I think she's a cutie pie!

I really like Taylor. I thought Katherine's performance sucked, but the judges love it so I guess my opinion isn't worth much. LOL

My rundown of last night...
Their songs for the most part stunk last night. I think I knew maybe 1 or 2 songs. I really liked Elliott at the end. He did a good job with his choice IMO. I was bummed that Randy and Paula thought Paris was "the bomb." She can go anytime! I liked Mandisa and Taylor (as usual!). Ace...OMG...he is trying SO hard to be the next teeniebopper hearththrob. His gazing into the camera makes me feel embarrassed for him! Although I like Chris, I agree with what Simon said to him and am happy someone FINALLY said it. I thought it was funny (and SO TRUE) when Simon said, "Creed wouldn't be caught dead on American Idol." Based on last night I think any of the first 3 singers (Lisa, Kellie, Ace) could be in the bottom 3 tonight, along with Bucky.

I think at this point in the competition they always seem to forget that it's established by now that they all have good voices. They all can sing. But now their performances need to be more than just someone singing with a good voice. They need to WOW us with every performance. Their performances need to be FANTASTIC and memorable. I don't think many, if any, accomplished that last night.

Yeah, I thought they pretty much stunk last night also!  Gee its pretty bad when you love country music and you didn't even like Kelly singing "Suds In the Bucket!"  lol   
I actually liked Taylor best for the first time in weeks!  I've always like his voice but he has never been my favorite...he was last night. 
Being a giant country music fan, I never heard Lisas song,,so I thought she did a good job and I enjoyed her a lot.  I did NOT like Mandisas song and thought Katherine sucked tonight! Paris just plain annoys me, and I wasn't all that keen on Elliots song last night.
All that said,  I cried tonight when they voted Lisa off.  I honestly don't see why she is disliked so much,,,I think she is cute, good to look at, and sings really well, she really is one of my favorits...I will miss her.
Next week should be fun for me,, country!  What in the world will Chris do??  Probably take a country song and turn it ROCK!

I'm glad Lisa is gone, I couldn't stand to watch the faces she made when she sang.  I was surprised Bucky wasn't in the bottom three, although I liked his last Tim McGraw song, I hated Kelly's version of Suds in the Bucket.  I'm a country fan, so I critique these songs more than others.

I was surprised to see Katherine in the bottom 3 b/c I thought there were much worse than her, although nobody really SHINED in their performance. On the radio this morning they were mentioned that it was notable that Ryan Seacrest did NOT say "40 million viewers voted" like he always does at the beginning of the results show. They were guessing that the show was so bad and boring that viewers didn't stick with it for the whole hour, and so forgot to vote altogether. And that people who did vote vote for the people they think will get the least votes b/c they assume the better ones (like Katherine) will get so many votes anyway.

Interesting observation and probably more than true!  I know that is what I did.
 
It was also noted by someone that it was pretty bad of Ryan to keep saying over and over about how could this happen to Katherine while she is standing there holding hands with Lisa.   

I have just discoverd this thread, I love American Idol.
 
Chris and Taylor are my favorite.
 
I am having such a good time watching each week.
