And, while I normally don't support capital punishment (to me 50 years of lost freedom in a crappy and hostile environment beats death), I can see why it might be important to carry out his sentence quickly and without drama. As comedian Ron White put it, "In my state (Texas) we put in an "express lane.""   It will never be a 100% detterent. It's value is in removing a recurring danger to the world. True, there will be another bad guy like him somewhere else, hence, the express lane. I view criminals like him and others who have been executed as having given up their responsibility to their fellow man in their lust for power. I don't care about their motivations or hard childhood.
