Shadow looks so much more huskyish in that one.

Thanks. BTW, Jade has furry nipples, in case yours get tired.

I remember reading a quirky tale about a cafe in LA somewhere that became known for their salad rather than their pizza because the salad was inducing labour in uncomfortable women left right and centre. I believe there was an ingredient in the salad that is known for inducing labour sometimes. I believe it was balsamic vinegar.

Actually we have tickets to watch our local college hockey team play on Saturday night.  BF won them at work sooooo.....

You didn't spend any money on them . . .that's the real key!

DH's sister is a nurse practitioner.  Practically a doctor.  She has 6 kids.  The last 3 she drank a bunch of mineral oil (not sure how much) and jumped on the trampoline.  Worked each time.  I thought she was crazy but shes a Dr. pretty much and Im sure she knows whats safe and whats not.  Anyway... it did work.  If you dont have a trampoline maybe drink a few sips and go jump on your bed for a while.[:)]

Amy, I don't have a trampampoline (its what my son always called it when he was younger) and my bed is a mattress that lays on a platform, so I don't think it would be very bouncy.  Not only that but I don't think I could bring myself to jump anyway.  I just about died running up the stairs to answer the phone yesterday.  I swear to god my belly weighs about 80 lbs, although I have only gained 28.

And Michelle, the hockey game did not get us any results.  Next idea?

Drink it and stand in one spot and bounce yourself.  You know, just bend your knees slightly over and over.[:)]

Told ya', ya gott spend $$$!
Actually, in all seriousness, I don't think there's anything that is effective (with the possible exception of nipple stimulation, and that only when it's about to happen anyway) and I have read that there's a complicated dance of hormones that goes on when the timing is right (which means when the baby is ready) that helps the whole process go smoother, in that the baby's experience will be at the optimum (lungs clear, etc, etc.) you'll heal faster, etc., etc. Of course that's in a normal pregnancy, which I didn't have either time. Just don't let them induce with Pitocin (sp?) that stuff will cause meganasty contractions! Had that with my first.

Well they won't induce me until the 15th anyway, so that shouldn't be an option.  Simply cause if she waits that long, I'm gonna reach in there and yank her out myself!  JK.

Doc is gonna try stretching the membranes again on Thursday if I haven't gone in.  She tried last week, but there was not enough room to get the full 2 fingers in it takes to do that.  But everything else looked optimal.

Maybe if we get a really good snowstorm, and my mom and sister can't travel here from Dryden, which is 4 hours away, I'll go in.  Thats it, I'm envoking Murphy's Law...

Just wanted to update everyone.  Still pregnant.  However, I am having alot of trouble sleeping tonight.  I didn't have any confusion at all with Kale.  I woke up to a contraction at 5:30 in the morning, knew immediately what was going on, called my sister half an hour later and was on the way to the hospital within another hour or so.

This time, I have "suspected" labour a hundred times.  The first time was 2 Sundays ago.  It lasted for about an hour.  A few times since then I've woken up thinking maybe.  Tonight I just cannot get comfy, and I've been timing, what I think may be contractions for the last... oh... hour and a half I guess.  They haven't gotten worse per se, but they are approximately every 5-6 minutes, lasting 45 seconds or so.  They kind of knock the wind out of me a bit, which the others did not do.

So anyone up this time of night, that could give me a refresher course?
    • Gold Top Dog
It's been too long, so I can't give a refresher course, but wishing you all the best of luck.  And know that someone else is with you...my granddaughter will be making an appearance today.  Haven't heard from Debbie yet, but she has a grandchild due as well.

    I say...today is the day!

    • Gold Top Dog
Hmmm, haven't heard from her since 5 or 6 this morning, huh? Wonder if there isn't another little husky by now! Those sounded like real contractions, if they were that regular and taking breath away.
    • Gold Top Dog
Apparently they were just practice contractions... again.  Doc thinks it will be anyday now.  However it will definately be no later than the fifteenth.  That is 10 days late and they will induce me that day if I dont go in on my own.  Tummy has been very crampy for a few days though and I am already a few cm. dialated, so it shouldn't be long.
