My county has already been declared a drought disaster area. The short crops, like hay and animal feed, were harvested in July. Usually, they would grow corn until August. Grow a short crop until November, then plant winter wheat.
We would welcome any rain but we've got what's called a high pressure cap. You can see it on the satellite. Everywhere around us all kinds of moisture and rain. Then it hits the cap and bounces off or disintegrates. A change in trade winds is what will solve that and that usually doesn't happen until we get close to September. Daylight is already getting shorter. Shadow's been going through another blow, as he will begin growing a new undercoat in Sept.
