Digital Cameras

i definitely see a big difference in the two pictures. i like how vivid the color of the flower is in the second one, and the fur on your dog is much nicer looking.

my wife tried to tweak some of our photos with some program (i think it may have come with the camera) and they looked worse after. so i havent tried to tweak any since then.

i will say that from my experience, i would not install any software that comes with the camera. the camera will be seen similar to a drive and you can just drag and drop the pictures from it to the hard drive. alternatively, if you have a card in it, just use a card reader. i installed the crap software that came with our camera, and eventually reformatted the HD to get rid of it all. [:@] [sm=2cents.gif]

Also had to pipe in and warn you against some of those "cheaper" online sites.  I've heard absolutely TERRIBLE things about sites like cameraexpress.  Things like, it took 10 weeks for it to arrive and then it was missing some of the things the person had ordered and paid for.  Please go to google and type in the website and the word "reviews".  And check out more than one of the sites that are returned.  I recently found that when I did this there was all of the sudden a website that had 100% positive reviews when all the rest are negative. My guess is teh company made up their own website of reviews to trick people into thinking they were a reputable company.  Scariness!

I have a Vivitar 5.0 mp. It has a delay on which drives me crazy at times and it's nice one I'm still figure stuff out on it since I'm to lazy to read the instruction book.

    I agree with ewin0210...

Not only can companies take a long time to ship, but some of them are big scams....
They claim its new and its not, they never ship, etc.
Please look up reviews for the company.

I bought my camera from cameta camera.  They are on ebay, but I believe they have a website as well.
They are very good, and have a good relationship with Nikon (I know youre not getting a nikon, but they may have relationships with other companies) and they can get cameras that are in high demand that no one else has in stock.

Just a suggestion. But whoever you go with, please make sure they are reputable.

    Good luck!

Another buying option is to buy locally at a camera specialty shop. They will often price match and some shops even offer digital camera photo classes free or with a minimum charge if you buy a camera there.

Thanks!  yeah, I always check the reviews and with the BBB and all that.  Always read the shipping and return info.

I ordered it!Wee!  I got the Fujifilm FinePix F30, an underwater case, and a 1MB memory card.  It was a little more than I was wanting to spend all together but I think its gonna be worth it. The high quality video was important, and the casing became important after I thought about it.  Im soooo excited![:D][:D][:D][:D]

I had about 4 windows up trying to figure out which was cheapest with shipping and all.  I ended up going with Amazon.com.  When I went to check out I was qualified for a 3 month trial membership, I guess because weve ordered from them a bunch of times... which gives you free two day shipping and next day shipping for 3.99.  I got the next day of course, lol! Weee!

I cannot freaking wait, I dunno why Im so excited, but I am!  Cant wait to see how it does and show yall![:)]

I know you've already decided but I thought I'd weigh in with Sera on this one.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Canon Digital Rebel XT.  I will always use Canon SLRS.  I used a 35mm SLR for a long time and when I made the switch to a digital SLR (was waiting for the inevitable big jump in quality) I debated going for something other than a Canon but in the end the Canon was what I wanted.  It's pricier than the equivalent Nikon but I think you pay for what you get.  It's unbelievably intuitive and user friendly.  If I won the lottery I would probably buy a Phase One large-format camera, but since I don't have $40, 000 to spend on it I will stick to my Canon DSLR (although I will upgrade it next year when the price of the Mark II drops a little.)

I agree about it being bulky, though.  For me that's OK - when I go somewhere to shoot, for work or pleasure, that is what I am going to do and I am prepared to carry my gear with me.  If I am going somewhere and will want a few snapshots, like out with my friends, I have a Kodak Easyshare which does the trick just fine.

The one unfortunate thing about my DSLR is that an underwater housing for it (which I am tempted to get for my scuba diving trip next year) costs more than the camera did.

I hope you enjoy your new Fuji!  I have heard good things about it.
