Oliver in foreground... you can see where his fur is still trying to grow back from the TPO

I guess when you go camping you already have a designated wood fetcher for the fire [:)]

Riley's Mommy.. thanks for asking, he's doing well. He's able to hike with us for short hikes. His left hip is dysplastic even after the TPO so he may need FHO in the future but we're not there yet.

    Ok, last pictures I swear....
Oliver sort of gimping along in the water...

Snickers in front, Oliver in back... doing what he does best, chewing wood

Snickers and Olliver are such a shiny pair!

What do you mean after TPO he's still dysplastic? Did the surgery fail? Have you had the post surgical x-rays and the femoral head is not situated in the acetabulum? Sorry if I've missed your posting about this somewhere. If you've answered these questions you could just give me the link!

    He's lucky he's got you!

Twelvepaws -Yeah... they've gotten pretty shiny after I started deep sea salmon oil :)
unfortunately, my surgeon got excited about how his right hip TPO turned out (tightly in the acetabulum and real solid) so he decided to do a TPO on the left hip that had become a borderline candidate (further degeneration and loose ligaments) while the first surgery healed. He made the call while I was in the office and sent me home saying he was going ahead with the surgery... not me (yes a sore subject). Later I found out how borderline Oliver was and I'd have never taken the risk. Soo... now past post surgical x-rays, the hip is still popping, far from in the acetabulum, and the ligaments/tendons have failed to tighten enough to hold it in. I've got a dysplastic dog still! If you look in the illness disease section there's plenty of Oliver stuff lol. (we had tons of complications with the second surgery and thought we'd have to have him PTS at one point due to an extremely narrowed pelvic canal and inability to defecate) The surgeon has offered to do a free FHO cause he knows he screwed up.

I think Oliver and Rupert are related! Those "sticks" look just like the kind that Rupert pulls out of the woods. [:D]

Awesome pics!! and what a playground for them. Glad to see that Oliver is out and about.. and I just love Snickers ears.

Snickers does have excellent ears and it's so wonderful to see Oliver looking so good and having fun!
    • Gold Top Dog
hehe... yeah I love her ears... they are like little satelite dishes, turning towards sound.
although, one doesn't stand quite as stright anymore since she was pummeled by a newfie... the newfie's teeth did a number on her ear cartilage, I guess that stuff never heals...

Karen, Gracie's ear never has stood back up after she had an allergic reaction that filled her ear flaps with fluid.. my mom says it just gives her character.. I kinda like it too[:D]. Makes them unique.
