New pups first night

Well, I got the new guy tonight. It was emotional. The gal who was giving him away was crying, then I got him in the car and he was whining and trying to see his 'mom' and I started crying. But on another note Nikki and Missy really get along with him. Nikki more so than Missy, she just wants to be left alone. But Nikki and the new guy haven't stopped playing. I'm wondering if this is just a "not sure what is going on, I'm in a new place" surge of adrenaline for him, or if he really doesn't have an 'off switch'. I'm hoping it's the former. They are rough playing, wrestling, chasing each other CONSTANTLY. Hopefully they sleep well tonight, cause I'm exhausted.

Here are some photo's of Nikki and him playing. His current name is "Gotti" but I'm seriously considering changing it, even though he answers to it (well, kinda.)

They are just so cute together. I love the "looking in the mirror" picture. It looks like adjustment is happening fast!

How exciting! How ADORABLE they are together!!

It sounds like you are off to a great start, Lani. Pofi and Mia were pretty none stop for the first few days, but then settled into a more comfortable routine of alternating rough play with gentle play and napping. I'm guessing they will, too, as soon as they realize they will always have each other to play with, the novelty will wear off. And I'm betting Missy will see some benefit and be able to just sit on the sidelines and watch them with bemused contentment and only engage when she wants to. The kitty boyz here sure have been happy to have Pofi pay far less attention to them!

Congrats....and I think I'd have to change the name, too...it's sort of clever, but who wants to think about the Gotti family any more then they have to!?

Chase is cute! How bout Pippin? Or Puck (from Midsummer Night's Dream)? Oliver (Twist)?

Thank you so much everyone! I just got home (going to work from here for the rest of the day, it's only 2:30 here) and I had already forgotten how many more dogs just 1 more feels like! I really don't know how you big dog families do it! I'm impressed. [

He's doing great! After my post last night, I turned off the computer and headed to bed. Before that, I sent them outside to potty. He followed Nikki like a little trooper! Then we went to bed, he was a little unsure, then he found a spot and off to sleep we all went. I was a little concerned it wouldn't be as easy as it was, whew. He and Nikki are still playing a ton, I feel like I'm in the middle of the WWF and NASCAR colliding. Lisa, it's heartening to hear that they will probably settle down soon. I'm hopeful! He's also doing great with his housetraining (he came to me not completely trained.) only 1 accident, obviously my fault.

Signature:

Thanks Lisa and Janice, I'm glad you like the signature! I wish I could take any type of credit for the symmetry (I'm also a big symmetrical person).. but her photo's are all really condusive making it easy.

Looking alike and collars:

It's hillarious, but when they are really rough-housing and chasing each other, I really rely on the color of their colors to tell them apart! When you look at their faces straight on, it's easy... but other than for those few brief seconds it's really quite difficult at times!

Name change:

Thank you for your suggestions! I'm not completely sold on "Chase" just yet, but it's definitely not going to stay Gotti, particularly because I have a Nikki already! [8|] Puck is cute, I do like the Shakespeare references, I had originally going to name Nikki "Portia". But, i'm still not entirely sure. Chase is the closest, but I'm definitely open to any suggestions.
