Nonnie's pups photo thread

Here are the other 2 pups....the one with the white collar is the boy...the other one is a girl. Nonnie's birth story is over in Breeding if anyone wanted to read it.

    They are beautiful Gina.  Congratulations!

All 3 are just beautiful. I can't wait to see more pics as they grow. Congrats on the new pups.

    Thanks for the pix.

    Question:
Does the black on the head of the tri's fade?  The tri puppies look like basenjis-type tri's and the beagle tri's I'm familiar with are saddleback tri's.  (Does that make sense?)

Yes they do. To what extent is controlled by some gene or another. Some Tri's stay very dark...like Ellie and others fade out...like Nonnie. Here's Teeny as a newborn and then as an adult so you can see the change...black headed Tri's have been selected against in show lines I have to assume because I have seen them in field lines. There's more variety overall there colorwise....which I enjoy personally,

They sure look active for being a day old! Are they squirming all over the place or just in those pics?

They're strong and vigorous puppies. They're pretty active...esp the male...who got the slowest start.

Thanks.  I'd love to see a pic of a basenji-type tri adult if you run accross one.  No need to look too hard, just idle curiosity on my part.  FYI, when basenjis first came to the states and were being shown, there was a CH basenji saddle back tri.  For some reason that type of tri didn't take.  With the influx of the new Africans in the 80's, the breed saw some saddle back shading and what we call open faced or capped tri.

    Here's a capped tri:
