I don't think anyone is really happy with the new format.  For me its the degree of difficulty to navigate the darned thing.  But, in fairness, I think that they are trying to make things better.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand squat about formatting or really much of anything to do with computer communication, but the current format just seems like too much work to me.

All that said, hope you'll stick around!

 Hello and thank you for alerting us to your concerns. We do understand that some changes that have been made to the community layout in that past that were not well received. We as a team have done our due diligence to listen to questions and concerns form users regarding the format and taken them into consideration in new releases.

 First and foremost we are Dog lovers and, just like you,  it is our passion to connect with others that share our passion to discuss topic that are most important to us. For this reason, we have been working on creating a central hub for all people of like minds to share their passion of dogs.

 In further trying to reach our goals our team has kept their finger on the pulse of the dog world to stimulate conversation on an array of different topics.

In case you haven't noticed, very few of the posts have stimulated any conversation.

Sorry you have made decisions about this forum and have tried to shove it down our throats. You ask what we want and we get more of what you want.

In what just might be the final straw for me I am now getting offensive ads in the middle of the posts and even above this dialogue box.

Admin, if you'll check out the thread Why are you here? you'll find that most of the responses are along the lines of this is a community of people who support and care for one another.  When my oldest son died in a head on collission I had to be strong for sooooo many people in my life.  But I could come here, to this forum, and just fall apart and my cyber friends helped me pull myself back together.  I might have totally lost my mind if not for the people on this forum.

Check out this weeks chat....note the concern for Ginger and for Tracy's DH.  This love and concern is why so many of us are here.  We CARE about one another, total strangers in real life, but family here.

Its not too much to ask for a forum that is user friendly.

I Always find helpful info , nice people,  and good topics on this forum.  

Glenmar, I personally did read the thread "Why Are You Here?" It is filled with so much love and support for each other in tough times. It is because of all of you that we have been/are currently working on making the community more usable. I understand that it is because of your passion for dogs and each other that you have  stayed on the community through thick and thin. I want to thank you for staying here and being vocal.

Kpwlee, I have messaged you concerning the Ads in posts. I am hoping that we could get this concern resolved quickly.

I don't have any problems getting around . It's a fun and helpful site. I enjoy reading the stories about of our beloved animals.

LOL... you guys are braindead!  I , for one, would love to see the new stats since the forum's been changed.  bscotty probably hasn't used the old format or they'd understand what we ALL have said.

If it's about the money and drawing people to the site, well, let's hear some numbers... I'm curious!

I really enjoyed the site pre-upgrade.  I agree with the others as to this being big family and a place for DOG LOVERS.

I don't think that the PTB came in thinking that they could totally screw up the forum and run everyone off.  And, I suspect that the folks we're bitching at are lower level of the corporate ladder and probably can't do much but pass along our comments and complaints.

To be very clear, I don't like the changes, I find the forum difficult to navigate and not at all user friendly.  But, part of that is likely because I'm an old broad and resistant to change.  However, me and my attitude are in no way the entire problem.  The forum is NOT user friendly.

At present, no, this isn't our online home, our community.  But I still think we have to give them a chance to let our complaints trickle up through the ranks and maybe actually be acted on.

I don't believe anything will be done.  I can tell by their responses that their minds are made up as to the formatting of the forum.  They even have generic responses!

Yes I am a community manager but more so I am a dog lover, this is not generic it is from the heart. We all have different likes and lifestyles, different jobs and views of the world but like I said before in another thread, we all have dogs and love them. Being a dog person I want a place where we can all go to share thoughts, pics of our dogs and help those who have lost a dog or need advice. I wish all of our past members would help us grow this community, share their thoughts on our discussions. Your thoughts and advice could possibly save a dog and isn't that what we are all about? I have done rescue for over 15 years and have worked with so many different people but we all love dogs and that was our common ground. I believe that if we all just focus on helping people and dogs we can make this a really fun and helpful community. We all love these furry creatures if we put them first and work together we can learn and grow this community.

It's pretty tough to comment on new threads if you can't find them.  I can't figure out how to change my preferences, how to even GET to my messages, or much else because everything is soooo darned different.  At one point I got email notification on several areas that interested me.  Now, I can't find out how to fix that, so since I basically rely on those notifications since navigating the site is such a gigantic PITA, you've essentially shut me out of many conversations.  And, no, I don't think it was deliberate, but the end result is I can't find things I'd like to be able to find.  I know that you said at one point you had either emailed or PM'd me, but I never found either.

Seriously?  I think if you asked for a show of hands there would be many raised for going back to the old format.  It wasn't perfect but at least we could find stuff.

I'm trying to be patient, I'm trying to think the best of everyone, but, I'm tired of my community being so screwed up that many can't use it.

Hi everyone. I used to be a regular poster, years ago.

I'm not sure how I came across this thread (it's months old already) but it outlines my thoughts exactly. There have been times I've wanted to come back and post, but the layout is not intuitive at all - every time i come back, I leave within minutes because I can't figure out where anything is!  I'd like to return some day, if it could be converted into a format that makes sense to more people. Just my two cents.
