    Chatting on Wednesday

Gosh, the spammers were out in force last night!.

Despite the winter storm watch, so far, nada.  I got up around three for a bathroom break and it looked like we might have gotten a dusting of snow, but it's gone now, so I'm sure not going to fuss about that.  It's already 35, so maybe if anything falls it will just be rain....altho, since tomorrow isn't supplosed to get out of the teens, maybe that wouldn't be so great adding to the ice potential.  Oh well, we'll get what we get weather wise and nothing can change that,.

Today will be fairly busy trying to wrap things up for a couple deadlines so best get to it.  Hope everyone has a good day and decent weather.

I hope you don't get a bunch of ice Glenda.

We've got a windy cooler day today.  I wish this up and down weather would stop.

Not much going on other than a dental appointment this morning.

Good morning everyone, I took care of the spammers, they were on a roll last night for sure.

Very cloudy here in PA today, getting rain instead of snow thank God. I have a friend flying in from Florida today so far flights are on time.

Jackie good luck at the dentist today, I need to go but I'm such a baby sometimes. O well....

Be safe everyone have a great day.

I went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning. On Monday the 17th, I get my tooth (implant)!

Winter came back with some cold and snow. I think areas south of me were hit hard.

Mountains of work, best get to it.

Thanks for zappin the spammers, Michelle.

We had 70's yesterday and then the winds from our northern friends :) came in with gusto.  33mph gusts this morning.  Needless to say the boys went out for their business and they were back very quickly....woof...it's too noisy out here, lol.  All the chimes were going crazy.

Just met a new customer that was very inspirational, she is a teacher and in just the small time we visited I was in awe of her work.

Tina, I'm so glad you're finally going to get your implant done next week!  :)

Michele, I used to hate going to the dentist and neglected my teeth for years.  Then I finally had to go because I broke a tooth and it cost me so much money to get all my teeth fixed up that I vowed to never do that again.  Today is just a cleaning and I love my hygienist.  He's so funny and the fact that he's easy on the eyes makes the whole experience much more pleasant.  :)  I do hate that he asks me questions when I can't answer because his hands are in my mouth.  Why do dentists and hygienists do that? lol

Gin, the wind here is howling and our backyard chairs were blown all over.  I don't think we're supposed to get too cold tonight.  My dogs don't like the wind either, except Belle who doesn't seem to care.

Good Morning! When my girls went to bed we worked more on the Finish and Front command. Lilly has the general idea she gets fast each day. We tried pivoting on Monday night and oh boy was that as expect a major fail. She can't be lured with food or toys. She can be lured by my voice and praise which is what got us the finish and front commands. Sit and down I marked real life behavior then added hand signals and a command to it. Very sad to see her just SHUT DOWN when you try to lure her into something new. She's so smart and such a good girl I wish there was something I could just say or do to make her feel confident and stop being so timid. But... I love her regardless. And if therapy work is all she wants to do and is cut out to do in the end I think that's pretty awesome. We will just having to get a spunky sibling to do Obedience, Rally, and Agility ;) hehe

I will def keep at it... but at the end of the day I think I am a believer that not all dogs are cut out for everything. She was born to be a bed dog. It's what she's good at. Super calm. Super relaxed. She's never stressed or panting when we do therapy stuff.... so that's her gig.

I have to say in other news this Guinea Pig is a huge hit. We got it for my 4 year old Daughter and everybody loves him. Including Lillian.

    • Gold Top Dog

Jes, the little piggy is adorable and so is your daughter. :)   Have you tried clicker training with Lilly? Might be something to consider if you don't already train that way.

    • Gold Top Dog

Yep! So the clicker allowed me to "mark" the behavior. So when I first had to teach sit or down whenever she naturally Sat or Lay or came into Heel I "marked" it. And she perked up at me and I said "GOOD GIRRRRRL" (which she loves) and then that was that. She learned super fast. But when it's like hey follow my hand move this way she's soooooo nervous! Poor girl. I would never do anything to make her nervous... she's been like that since I've had her. I highly doubt the breeders were abusive or anything.

Tell me if you think this is a good idea. So I got her an unstuffed fox toy. She doesn't care for toys so I wanted to teach her the point of them. I played with her (or tried to, haha takes a lot to get her riled up and excited) and used the toy each time she put her mouth on the toy or started to "play" I clicked and said GOOD GIRL! And she got it she was like oh okay this is okay?! I can play?! so I kept doing that and doing that. And maybe if I do this every single day she will build a FUN association with this toy. And then I can use that toy in training! :D Yes? No? Hahahaha What do you think?

    Your daughter is adorable!

    • Gold Top Dog

Thanks! That's my oldest she is a riot. Total goof ball and loving her piggie

    • Gold Top Dog

It sounds like building a fun association in Lilly's mind with the toy is a good idea.

    • Gold Top Dog

Awesome I will keep that up then.

I really really look forward to ongoing warmer weather. I have some cabin fever I want to start running again and get back into a better routine. Now that Lillian is older I want to take her running with me.

it was super gorgeous the last few days but today is the day of change

Overcast, breezy, sporadic showers turning into thunderstorms later

    Better than snow though :)

Jackie glad you are feeling better

Tina reserve some kibble for her walks if it keeps her going LOL

Also frozen or no-salt canned green beans are fabulous for doggie weight loss.

I realized yesterday that Bugsy's failed surgery was a year ago ( last week sometime was the actual 'anniversary';). It has been a LONG road for him but you'd never know it. Just another reason to love our fur babies!

That's about it - Mom is still here, leaves tomorrow.

Work is a little strange at the moment. I keep thinking contract work isn't for me............I like a little more stability

    OK lunch beckons!!
