On my way to the vet with Buddy.

Good luck at the vet, Tina.

I've got a zillion things to do and zero motivation. Sleep

is there some word limit today? Cuz I am going to bust it!!

being the wench that I am I wish I didn't have guests here, they are easy but dang I didn't want to be up from 5:30 am to 11pm last night. Storms broke out about 3 am but I can't blame that for keeping me awake it was the 150 decibel snoring going on inches from my head Sleep

I was out entertaining them most of yesterday and was happy to at least not go out for dinner.

This morning I took Beastie on our last weekday paddle for a LONG time. I so love my Beast.

OK better keep getting little things done - I doubt I'll have any downtime on the job

     Hope Buddy is okay!

It poured rain all morning. They've kept the news on all morning instead of going to regular programming. Blah.

Buddy has been sneezing, wheezing, and had an eye draining since Friday. I thought he might have an upper respiratory infection. Of course, I got up this morning and he seemed much better, but if I'd cancelled the appointment, he'd have gone downhill again by the weekend. The vet thought he was not fighting a URI but that it might be whatever feline-type herpes virus most cats carry was acting up. So we decided on giving him chewable Lysine daily and if he seems to get worse again after several days, we can go the antibiotic shot route. I'm happy to say that, because of his age (14), they will no longer force me to give him the annual distemper/combo shot unless I feel it is necessary.

    Work is sooo slow today!

Little Man had a VERY bad day at school yesterday, resulting in lots of behavior discussion at home. Thankfully, DH got home and took care of the dogs while I went to the school so K9s were happy and had their attention, allowing us to dedicate our time to LM.

It can only get better, right?

It feels like summer is quickly slipping away and I'm not sure if I've had the chance to really enjoy it. It's a good thing I love fall and winter also.

Good thoughts for Buddy and glad it wasn't something more serious.

Karen - I'm excited for this new venture for you but sad that life is going to change for you and Bugsy. I know you'll both miss the time together but will adapt to new ways to compensate.

Sarah - yes, things will get better. Hang in there! (((Hugs))) for you and LM

For the 1st time since using the freeway to get to work, I hit a wall of stopped traffic. I really hope that it was due to an accident and this isn't what back to school commute traffic will look like.

Why is it that the days I didn't need to get up early, I was awake at 6 but today I slept till 7 and could've slept longer?

That is the $64,000 question I've asked myself many, many times!  So annoying!

Sending "get better" vibes to Buddy.

Also sending "no more misbehaving" vibes to your Little Man, Sarah.  I couldn't handle the stress of being a parent . . . the hardest job in the world that's for sure!

Karen, continued sympathy to you while you wear your hostess hat . . . it's so hard to be "on" all day and all evening, when you're used to a bit more alone or quiet time.  I'll be donning the same hat starting tomorrow evening.

Like Janice, I've got a bunch of tasks facing me, with little motivation to tackle them.  I'm already thinking about walking to the store to get something for lunch, and it's only 11am.

Sitting in class. It's very boring and so cold in the roo. It could snow. I think that's their strategy for keeping us awake. Worst part of all is we have after class assignments! Ugh. So in class until after 5 then more work to do plus answering calls and emails during breaks and lunch. These next few days are going to be really long. Glad we had a fun day yesterday

I thought you were on vacation again though you'd said you were working out of town.  I thought I'd just gotten confused and forgetful. Now I realize you had one day of fun before the work stuff.  Yesterday looked like an awesome day based on the pictures on FB.  Too bad it's all work now.

Tina, give Buddy some scritches from me.

    (((Sarah)))

The TNR class is tonight.  I still can't imagine what is going to take three hours.  No way am I staying for the entire class unless it's taught by good looking firemen.  It's at the firehouse. :)

DH told me last night I should get a JRT puppy.  I guess he thinks that's what it will take to make me stop missing Twister.  He couldn't be more wrong and I told him I didn't want another JRT.  I don't want another dog, period, end of discussion.

Jackie, I so understand.  Substitute "Bullmastiff" for "JRT" and you've got the exact same sentiment I expressed to DH on a regular basis for several years.

As for the class at the firehouse -- if it's anything like the firehouse portrayed on the former FX show, "Rescue Me," it could be a very interesting night!  :-)  I loved that show - perfect combo of hilarious and heartbreaking.

When Morrison (German Shorthaired Cuddler) was younger, as in less than 3 years, I would often become frustrated at his activity level. Now that he is six and Monroe is 11 years old I thank him for keeping Monroe in such good shape. They are both such good dogs and they are exactly what they were bred, born and trained to be.

Do you think I could apply that thinking to my own, human kid? Well, I'll work on it.

DH had to get a document Apostilled this afternoon and it only took him 20 minutes when it has always taken me at least an hour of waiting. So jealous!

Hugs and peaceful thoughts to Karen. Houseguests+imminent routine change = stress

    mmmm....firehouse.....
