I have an idea - let Sonja walk with Bugsy. Perhaps she hasn't had the right conditions for a poop. Bugsy is extremely

    LMBO!

Jan - something from Effoff always makes my day.  I'm about to place a pretty big order.  I can sorta afford it lol.  I just feel guilty spending money on stuff like that when I'm only working part time - even though the significant other could care less.  Part of the order is for my Mom for Mother's day, so that makes me feel less guilty lol.

I have a serious craving for Indian food.  Sadly, the closest restaurant is about a 45 minute drive, one way.  I should probably teach myself how to cook it - at least a couple of my favorite dishes.  I wonder if I can even find the ingredients I would need around here!

Tub drain issue is fixed. Like I thought, the stopper mechanism was broken. I could've fixed it myself if I had a good cordless screwdriver to get the screws out of the drain cover out.

Have you tried pumpkin for Sonja, Jano? Stick out tongue

You guys are cracking me up today with all your funny posts about pumpkin, poop walks, cadavers, and Ole and Sven, too (that was a good one, Doug!).  I hope Sonja has success soon and that your back pain isn't something serious.

Sending some "calming and patience" vibes to Lisa and Deb to use at work today.  Deb, you must want to scream if people are complaining to you about airline delays.

Callie, I hope your Mom is okay.  I know how hard it is to deal with these things when you're so far away, and when it's made worse by a stubborn senior citizen being involved.  Sending good vibes to all of you!

Ruby says thanks for the "Gotcha Day" wishes.  DH left the house at 6am, and I was still groggy, so we're waiting to give her the birthday toy and special treats after work today.  Photos to follow this evening or tomorrow morning!

It's been a bad allergy season for me -- symptoms appeared way earlier than normal.  Today is extra bad -- I feel I need a Kleenex strapped to my nose and my eyes are so watery.  At least I'm not as tired today.  Karen, you posted about Valerian yesterday --- I forgot I had bought some, so I took one last night.  I slept much better -- not sure if it was due to the Valerian, but I need to leave it on the bathroom counter so I don't forget about it again!

A little background that most of you probably know... I work from home but have to go in to the office (about an hour away) about once a month or so. I've had to cancel the last couple of weeks because of sick kids. I just sent this email to my supervisor:

I'm going to shoot for Thursday this week... it does, however, depend on the intestinal activity of my constipated, stubborn 3-year-old who has been on a poop strike for 4 days, because I don't want to send her to daycare with backed up, fully-loaded plumbing and three days of thus far ineffective prescription laxatives. Isn't parenting glamorous? O.O

LOL Janice but poor Sonja Sad

I am noshing away on Three Cheese Sourdough pretzel bites - I can't stop eating them Tongue Tied

The sun finally returned and its gotten a bit warmer. The last two days we've had the heating back on and added blankets to the bed

Whenever Bugsy goes out (pre-op, so on his own) he checks out all sorts of things in the yard, he never lays there and just chills. One thing this on leash only has done is help me to understand just all the things he checks out Hmm I feel as though I am aware of each germinating weed, blade of grass, mole hole, rabbit hotspot, etc. Sigh every time he asks out at this point DH & I look at each like, "it must be your turn!"

And with Bugsy you can say no but he will just overpower you and keep doing what he wants

Karen - you never quite knew exactly how good a yard guardian Bugs was, eh??

Poor Sonja.  Jan, I'd love to see your boss try and ... argue? with that one?? LOL

    I'm calling this GOOD news:

I just got a call from Pa -- they are keeping Mom *one* more day.  The doctor saw her and he's pleased overall, *but* he really wants to see her eat **normal** (albeit hospital) food and have it successfully go thru her 'plumbing' completely.  He told Dad confidentially he *could* release her, but Dad told him he really agrees that keeping her to get her totally 'ok' is best.

The other good news -- the patient advocacy lady told Dad a "better place to park" and he was bragging to me on the phone about the GREAT handicapped spot he scored *right in front of the hospital" (phew -- she didn't rat me out!) so now more riding his rollator BACKWARDS down the hill.

You know ... when I was 18 and thot 58 sounded SO OLD, it never occurred to me my folks would still be giving me fits when I was THAT *old*.  (of course I would have thot it was a grand joke *then* that when I was 58 my folks would be "almost 90";)

    sheesh.

Sounds like a fun girls Weekend Sharon.

    Hope you're feeling better Tina.

    Thanks for the laugh Doug.

Callie so sorry about your Mom. Sending healing vibes her way. That was great the Patient Advocacy was able to help your Dad out...and without giving you away.

Jan, hope your back gets feeling better and love your email to your supervisor.

Lisa, as Callie said....it will be too hard to get paid if you do your boss in.

Karen, I always think that the hawks get too close to the birds nesting area, and that's why they go after them. My thoughts anyway. I love it when you see even small birds chasing them. Brave little things.

58, Callie? it's funny isn't it, how when you're younger, you can't even imagine older like that. I can't believe I'm going for the big 60 this year. Man 60 was ancient beyond ancient, as it still is, I'm sure, to some on this board.

Went out to lunch with my 93 year old lady friend yesterday and she told me that a falls near us was going full bore. So we drove up and I took some photos. Told hubby about it and he drove up today, while I was at agility with the dogs. He got himself lost too and ended up on quite the back country road adventure. Anyway, about the falls, he told me I must have been hallucinating, as there wasn't a whole lot of water flowing, not in his mind anyway. Well, he took pictures, as had I, and wow what a difference a day makes. Oh, my 93 year old friend friended me on facebook yesterday.

Callie, good thoughts for both your parents.  They sound like quite the pair!  What would they say if you popped in and said you just happened to be in the neighborhood? Big Smile

    Happy Gotcha Day, Ruby!

The wind picked up late Sunday and blew like you wouldn't believe all day Monday and Monday night.  It was blowing stuff around in the patio so I couldn't even leave the window open at night and it turned out to be a good thing that I never got around to setting the patio up over the weekend.  The patio umbrella would have been in someone else's yard.  Last weather report said no wind on Wednesday!  Yea!  I can hardly wait.

I need to get myself in for an eye exam because it's definitely time for new glasses.  I'm going to ask to see the frames that are NOT designer frames.  I'm not into designer anything else, so I don't see any reason why I should pay a small fortune for designer frames.

Actually plenty -- I wasn't kidding about WW III -- Several years ago my Dad asked me to come home for Christmas (remember, they're in western NY and i"m in FL).  David and I both arranged to get off from work -- but meanwhile Mom was dithering about "dates" and what to do ... and about a week before we were to fly -- she said "Don't come - it's not going to work for us."

The day before yesterday, I called her after supper (figuring I'd miss doctors, supper, etc.) -- she picked up the phone and I said "Hi ... how's it going."  She said "Well, I think I"m going to throw up ... so make this FAST".  I told her no problem I'd get her later and she said "yes ... in fact, don't even call until tomorrow"

Seriously Joyce -- if I just "dropped in" -- she'd probably have a heart attack she'd be so mad.  And no -- I'm not kidding.  Her whole personality is different when she's dealing with someone other than Dad or I.
