I'm sick, but I'll be dragging my butt down by 7pm tonight to vote.  I'll pick up some more cough drops along the way, ugh.

I'm halfway afraid NOT to vote!  I want this political storm to be OVER for a little bit.

I read something interesting this morning.....Ohio is so messed up with the change of districts that something like 60% of the voters in Ohio might go to the wrong polling place.  They won't be turned away, but rather given provisional ballots that won't be counted for TEN DAYS??  PLEASE, no.  Ohio is considered a key state too, so, lovely.  Just lovely.

I don't believe I have ever felt this burned out by a campaigne.

Hope everyone has a good day and short voting lines!

Under the weather today - nothing significant just congestion, weather is dreary, Bugsy is not LOL

Sis and family STILL without power :(         I noticed they started the day at 29* brrrrrrrrrrrr

I now know why our phone, mail, radio and TV have been so inundated - apparently our county was considered one of the 10 most important COUNTIES in the country. Sooooooooo glad the ads should stop even though its clear they'll be no announcement this evening. And no I won't be staying up to find out what happens, my vote is cast, the rest is out of my hands

I have this sunflower that has thus far survived the frosty mornings and is slowly trying to open. Its from some seed left behind by the birds, I am enjoying watching it unfold

Nothing going on here. Busy day ahead. Sorry that the no power situation still lingers. They have to be getting close I imagine.

I am tempted to throw neiko and lily into doggy day care today. Neiko especially. He is really bored lately and no amt of frisbee, searching, kongs or bones settles him down.

What is this election thing everyone speaks of? I haven't heard a thing about it...Devil

Sharon and Karen, I'm sorry you're both under the weather.  Feel better vibes for you both.

Deb says they've been informed that they have to start boiling their water as the local water company has lost power.  With the storm predicted she's wondering how much longer they can stay in their house with no power.  There was some good news.  Her street has been cleared of the downed trees so they can get their cars out.  Her parents were able to go to their home and it didn't suffer any damage other than some shutters blown off and trees down.  They can't stay in their house yet but to know their home is ok was a great relief.

Not much going on around here.  The weather is beautiful but I hate not having much time after work to enjoy it.

*note to self* bundle up all political junk and forward to Tina - not in one big bunch -- just constant dribbles so she can share the joy even after it's over Surprise

Jackie -- thanks for the update on Deb.  Bless her heart -- this all got really OLD by last week, and now just trying to drag thru and "keep on" is a major deal.  Good thing she's a strong woman -- stuff like this is SO wearing.

And Charlie would remind everyone that water that comes from the sky can just fill up your world and try to wash it away & it leaves a stinky mess behind.  David and I keep reminding each other how glad he would be to know he missed Sandy!  I keep picturing him trying to survive in that flooded house after Irene last year and thinking of Deb & family.  It's kept her on my mind more than usual.

I almost made it through the election without getting into any heated discussions.  One of my nieces posted something on FB that I just couldn't ignore. It wasn't about a candidate or party affiliation. She said she didn't think people were voting for any reason except to say they'd voted and to bully others into voting. WTH?   She said she wasn't going to vote because she didn't feel well informed about the candidates or the issues. WTH???  It's not like everyone hasn't had plenty of time to inform themselves and form an opinion. I told her that and she responded that it was just a form of bullying to pester people to vote. Ack!

I voted this morning. They tried to hand me a pamphlet about a candidate right before I walked in. Umm... if I don't know now, and I need a pamphlet, isn't it a bit late now?

The people who are still without power, who knows when they'll get it back. There's another storm heading this way tomorrow. If there are high winds, the crews won't be able to get out there to do the work. In some of the towns, the work they were doing clearing sand off the streets has had to stop so that they can try to make some sort of dunes to protect what's left of the houses in those towns.  Hopefully, the storm heads out further into the ocean.

Apparently, I am very lucky, because I must be on the same grid as the nursing home across the street. When I took Luke over to visit, I found out we lost power and got it back at the same time. So, my neighborhood is a priority by virtue of being on the same grid as them.

Old-timey expression "cutting off your nose to spite your face" -- people don't stop to think who they are really "hurting" here -- nor do they stop to think you don't have to vote on **every** issue.

Mostly sometimes people just want to sound-off with some grand-sounding thing, that -- in truth -- really isn't logical nor well-thought-out and sounds a tad stupid and you just want to say "um ... think about what you just said for a minute?  Who will care?".

But then -- I think that's something I learn tripping my way into the Old Broad's Club.

Altho -- i gotta say the "you GOTTA vote" thing does get old.  No one nagged me to get up this morning, but I did it. Nor did I get a sticker for doing it! *sigh*

    There's an election? Who's running? I hadn't noticed ;-)

Karen - still thinking about your family!!  Is there any estimate for them?

On more fun thoughts I got RIley's holiday pictures done today!!! I got a total steal. Professional portrait full package for $16!!!!!!! Gotta love coupons!

Here is a sample.  I will say, that I love JCPenny for pics.  So many of my friends pay $100's each year.  JCPenny does a nice job, you are in and out of there in a couple of minutes and then they email you a link to your pics within hours.

No stickers here. They never have any stickers.

omg Lisa - I love those pictures!!! and you're right, that's a great deal.

I'm glad to read the somewhat positive news about Deb. I hope things keep getting better and this next storm won't cause more problems.

I feel a little discombobulated this morning. I had the minutes from the last Board mtg sitting on a table and now they're not there. I don't remember moving them and I can't find them anywhere. I can't believe the person that works Fri & Mon would've moved them. I wonder if I can't find them if I can just put "blah, blah, blah" and call it good Hmm

I also had a bunch of confusing emails. It bugs the crap out of me when people keep using a previous email to forward other things to me. Take the time to start a new email with a different subject or you may never get reimbursed for whatever you're claiming Super Angry

Jackie - how old is your niece? Not that being young is an excuse, but I do think that some younger people don't see the importance of casting your vote. I've been voting since I was 18 but many of my friends just didn't care.
