    Monday monday

One more day of this election nonsense. seriously, the ballot proposals are way more important to me than the presidential election. It will be nice to not have to listen to all the politics for a while. My finger hurts like a mofo. It is 22 degrees right now. Brrr. Time to get out the goose down jacket.

    Monday Monday...can't stop that day.......

Oh yeah, the political is such fun.  Yesterday I got a call from VERMONT...the current govenor stumping for the new one to be.  On my cell phone.  Seriously?  I'm in a MA area code so it's not likely I'll be voting in VT.

And the ugly nastiness?  I started out being conflicted about the two Senate candidates for MA.  No more.  The ugliness and sheer nastiness of one completely turned me off to him.  Whatever happened to not digging a hole under someone else to make yourself look taller?  Just so annoying and negative and I'll be soooo glad when it just is over.

It seems like Mother Nature isn't done with those poor folks on the Eastern Seaboard and the Noreaster coming in looks massively nasty.  Extra prayers going out to all of those people in harms way and especially all those who are already paying the price of the last storm.

I think that todays high is supposed to be 41.  And not looking like anything about 40 for the rest of the week.  Yikes!  Sure glad that I got out the sweaters!  And I do love being able to wear those.  It feels like a free shopping trip when I get out the colder weather stuff, because I always forget that I had at least a few things, and it's cool to find them waiting for me!

Off to get ready to earn my keep!  Have a great day everyone!

woke up to the smoke alarm this morning - back up battery says "its time for a new one"

    motivation escapes me today

    pretty day here

Bugsy is definitely limping again.............i need to find time and a place to swim him - not sure if I posted here but they are draining the lake to fix the piers so I worry about him stepping on fish hooks, glass etc. Plus I have to carry the boat out about 40 yds through what is like quicksand. I can do it but I need a lot more time than usual.

Meeting a friend for a birthday lunch today Big Smile

Praying for all those who are without power - I refuse to complain about being cold or uncomfortable - whatever I am experiencing is nothing compared to those without homes/power/water/gas in NJ/NY/LI

Julie do your best to keep that cut from getting infected!

I have been ready to smash the TV's for months now due to the politics. And I won't answer my phone unless I clearly recognize the number or name. As a house of registered Democrats I cannot for the life of me figure out how we are only getting calls from the Repubs.  Worked out in the end because it made me angry enough to be active for the Dems.

OK need to press on if I am going to make time for lunch out

Yeah, I'll be glad to have things over tomorrrow. We've kept our phone off the hook an awful lot lately.

Shane continues to have ear problems. They both still look good but he's itching them and shaking his head a lot. I've been using the Panalog for a week now and both ears still look good, so I guess it's just allergies but I feel bad for him.

There's a litter of feral kittens out at HB and they've been looking for a foster family to raise them. They are the cutest little balls of fur and I so wanted to bring them home but DH wasn't keen on the idea. I think Shane would be really love them though.

    80ish today Big Smile

Same here. :)  I wish I could send this weather to everyone and especially to those in the cold and dark on the East coast.

I woke up too early and couldn't get back to sleep.  It will take a while to get used to the time change.

Not feeling well today, not sure I'll make it the whole day or not.

The significant other is off from work this week to get some skiing in lol.  I'm a "ski widow" when the ski season truly hits.

I'm glad we just have cell phones and are not on any political call lists.

Back to the grind...and staying awake.

Feeling very strange today - like I'm disconnected from my brain.  Been talking to a lot of customers in NY/NJ and trying to help them.  One woman is going to be gutting buildings tomorrow and over the next few days, so I was giving her disaster recovery advice (having done the same stuff after Katrina/Rita.)  It's a scary prospect when they warn you about discovering bodies - especially a week after the event.

I'm annoyed by a coworker questioning the volume of calls from this hurricane vs Katrina.  We have a huge presence in NY/NJ, and those being densely populated areas only multiplies the potential impact to our customer base.  Seriously, don't act like we're being taken advantage of - we're not.  Ugh.

Add me to the "over it" voting thing -- I had SEVENTEEN voicemails on my phone yesterday just from Friday.  All of them started "Hi, this is _____" at which point I hit "3" (delete).  I can't believe recorded stuff like that changes anyone's mind.

That said -- I voted on Saturday (FL has had a week of early voting).  It took me nearly four hours.  They said down in Miami and the infamous Broward County (remember "hanging chads"??) it was SEVEN hours.

At least people are making the effort TO vote.  I suspect it's not going to be "over" tomorrow.  Not with all the storm/diseaster stuff.  My heart breaks for folks up there.

I try to be thankful everyday for the blessings I have.Thinking and praying about all those effected by Sandy and the storms to come.

Its gloomy and cold here today and not easy to keep your spritits up. Eeeh Winters coming on and I hate winter.

I went to bed thinking of the all diffrent colors dogs come in and work up thinking of Kobe as usual.

We voted weeks ago by mail. We dont get any phone calls,I will tell you the majority of people I know are so far from my political point of veiw

I am dreading the out come either way. But its about respecting others opinions right...I will not come unglued and strangle my friends.I swear it.Stick out tongue

Was feeling grumpy this morning, but better now. I'm having the 2:00p slump at 1:00p because of the time change. I'll be having my graham crackers & milk and taking my power nap shortly.

I wish there was a "decided, won't be changing my mind" button on our TV that would block out all the political ads.  One more day - one more day!!

I am constantly thinking about the people in NY and NJ.  So sad and so devastating!

I am working from home today.  I started at about 4:15 am so I figured I am done for the day.  We are off tomorrow for election day, but I am taking Riley in for her Christmas pictures.  It will either go really well, or I will work up a sweat trying to get her to smile and behave.  She's usually pretty good for everyone but me when it comes to pics Huh?

What a brilliant idea!  I wish I were an engineer; I'd invent such a thing and make millions!

We watch most TV programs on the DVR and fast-forward through all ads, but we're still seeing plenty of them when we watch "live" news and sports broadcasts.  Between the TV/radio ads, recorded phone calls, and the constant stream of junk (oops, I mean campaign flyers) that have come in the mail or landed on our doorstep, it feels like an onslaught.  Like someone else posted . . . . does anyone think this stuff changes people's minds?  Enough already!

We had a freakishly warm and mostly sunny day yesterday, so we got some yard clean-up done.  I even saw some confused yellow jackets buzzing around.  Still rather warm today, but grey and drizzly now.

Hope you feel better, Sharon.  Smile big for the camera, Riley!

I guess the only good thing about all the campaign stuff is we're lucky to live in a country where we get to vote. Big Smile  Believe me, I'm sick of it all too but remind myself it could be a lot worse.

We vote absentee, so we mailed our ballots in last week. There were an awful lot of choices that I thought "bad" and "worse" and had force myself to make a mark. I took Shane for a walk and then washed my car. By the time I was done, I was drenched in sweat. It's a lot warmer than I thought it was going to be but wow, what a gorgeous day. I wish I could share these temps with the folks in the devastated areas. Thanks to Jackie, I want a new camera :). I've been wanting one for awhile but now I want reallyyyy want one. I should probably ask for it for Christmas and just be patient. I should, right? Yeah, it would make a great gift and something to look forward to.

I will happily keep my eye out for good deals LOL

Fingers crossed - today I connected two people who make a difference for animals in this area. I have a feeling something really great will come of this. We'll all have a sit down on the 13th. Very excited
